thats what i think too.... but some emo people pretend that emo is a culture and a lifestyle and all that... even i cant really see the diff between emo rock, metal, gothic and symphonic gothic... other than in the riffs and the deep and dark guitar sound fx...to me emo is very close to a mix of gothic and pop rock...thats jsut me though...lol

i thought sooo....lol i know music, im a music fanatic of all kinds, and when i listen to "supposedly" emo songs, they pretty much use the same instruments as gothic, metal or pop rock..xcept for the tempo and the rythm.. but they could very well be fake cousins, thats how close they sound to me...i guess, its just that certain people prefer to create a "supposedly" new genre of music than to conform to what is already there...anyways, its all good, as long as they make great sounding songs lol
