im not pro but i got a fair few holeshots on my crf250, i start in second everytime because i keep both feet down for abit so i cant get my foot up fast to change gear. I give it as much throttle as i can get away with out excesive wheeling. Practise how much is needed at different tracks
@MultiAnthony96 it doesnt matter wat sprocket u have on ur bike its just how hard u gas it off the jump and how comitted u are im on a 125 with a stalk sprocket and start in 2nd and i get holeshots all the time and same on my 85 my dad even started in 3rd once by accident and still got the holeshot
@syderpaintballer start in second gear and if the ground is really grippy like clay then u want to hold it maybe a quarter or half throttle then when the gait drops PIN IT! i know it sound like u will flip but ur wheel will spin a little where if u were to give it a little gas ur wheel wont spin and it will hook up and u will flip just make sure elbows up, head over the bars, and feet infront of pegs

Maicos were always the kings of the holeshot, so if you've got a '75 or '81 Maico (depending on your class) then you'll rape the competition every time. Particularly the '81, which was six ponies stronger than the nearest competitor in '81 and will often as not beat an '03 KTM 525 (Google it).
get the gate closest to the first turn dont get a gate were youll run into the track i was forced in tht gate b4 and got t-boned out of the hole shot, oh and if the gate has a rut, shove dirt into it and over the bar of the gate.
2) thought it would be better to mention that u should shift ur weight back a bit for concrete starts instead of getting your weight forward and spinning on the gate?

well 1st gear is best but if u have amod were you changed your sproket for more recoil then 2nd is fine but if stock sprokets then 1st gear
