  • Is this an action RPG , or just a straight up RPG

  • @kweku88 Action RPG. You can tell because the battle system is not turn-based.

  • I dont know what my friends was talking about the fighting looks fun.

  • I need to get this sometime, I adored the Super Famicom version

  • is this a love story game?.. can you please give me a game like xenogears?..

  • so its not turn based? or command system-y? its an action rpg?

  • @BigPimp14 Yeah. Star Ocean is an ARPG series, usually likened to the Tales series. SO1 is considered by many to be the spiritual sequel to Tales of Phantasia.

  • @TheWildSeraph i just had to make sure because i played the star ocean they had for ps2 so i had to ask. also this may be an oddly specific question but do you move with the analog stick and if so can you change it so that you can move around with the directional buttons?

  • @BigPimp14 Heh... I forgot how you move! Wow. Booting up the game to see...

You can move with either the directional buttons or the analog stick. No messing around with settings, both work the same right away.

  • @TheWildSeraph thanks you helped alot my psp is old and has been dropped alot so the analog stick is fucked up to a certain extent

  • Whats the best choice? Buy Tales of Eternia or Star Ocean:First Departure?

  • @deadxattack Well, I've always preferred SO myself, but that may just be me. It seems as though a lot of people prefer Eternia, and it's pretty good. Of course, if you want a PSP Star Ocean, this may not be the one. Second Evolution, I find, is much better than First Departure. Between FD and ToE, ToE wins. Between SE and ToE, I'd go with SE.

  • @TheWildSeraph I don't understand this. FD and SE play exactly the same while Tales of Eternia's got a more fluid battle system than either. And you're not going to be able to win any important battles in ToE by just spamming one button (and once you get all your good skills and traits that's what all battles in both SO games boil down to).

To each his own, I guess... but there's not really much difference between FD and SE.

  • @TenchiHawkwing Like I said, Eternia is the more generally-favored game. Please don't try to force your opinion on anyone.

As for the difference between FD and SE, I just find SE has a much better story and whatnot. I'm not talking about the bare gameplay in that case.

  • @deadxattack tales of eternia

  • don skip the vioces...

  • i better bought Tales Of Eternia or Star Ocean....

  • im glad to see they kept the music from the original

  • Please tell me if this is a game worth getting or not.

  • @Sup750

It is worth every cent , get it now :D

  • Does this video skip many frames for anyone else?

  • bro im looking for a good rpg game for psp and iv been thorugh alot(alot) is this worth trying p.s iv played and beaten like 80% of all major rpgs

  • what is better this or second evolution

  • it really piisses me off how wit sayss gameplay, but 75% of its walking and talking

  • @THEDISCIPL3 hey dumbass, he's playing a game, therefore it is "gameplay"

  • kinda same as tale of aternia but i geusse this is much better cause of the way to rise and fight

  • it reminds me final fantasy tactics

  • reminds me of rpg maker O_o

  • Was that the game lagging? O.o

    Does it do that alot?

  • Awesome^^

  • oh..so the battle system is like the tales games..

  • Actually Star Ocean was made by Tri-Ace with the help of Wolf Team the makers of the SNES version of "Tales of Phantasia" that started the "Tales" series so if you have played both games you would see similar things compared to both games but I own both Tales of Phantasia (PSP) and I recently got Star Ocean: First Departure and then later once I get $20.00 I'm going to buy Star Ocean: Second Evolution (PSP).

  • @Talesoffan1 in the original it doesn't say anything about wolf team just says Enix and Tri-Ace

  • @KILLERREZ666 I'll just send you a message about it.

  • @om2x09 tales? tales of the abyss?

  • @lalz246810 Namco Bandai "Tales of" series with a LARGE ( FREAKIN' HUGE) amount of games to choose from ( Including Tales of The Abyss) Ofcourse many of them arent available in U.S but there are still quite a few of them. The battle system of Star Ocean Resembles the "Tales of" Linear Motion Battle System or LMBS for short. The earlier ones were 2D and some of the cross over ones are still 2D. thats what om2x09 mean when he/she said it resembles tales games because a lot of them look like this.

  • @om2x09 Or rather the Tales games are like Star Ocean. It's the same system as its release on SNES

  • @nognir616

you sir receive a thumb for being informed

  • @om2x09 uhuh, complete rip-off

  • Comment removed

  • @myron1231234 Tales of Phantasia came out on 1995, fucking retard

  • @om2x09 Well the Star Ocean games came first... So you might wan't to flip flop what you said. Oh yeah, Star Ocean is better too.

  • @Gyrorobot Actually the first Tales game was released a year before the first Star Ocean game.

  • i have to say star ocean 3 was ZOMG THIS IS SECOND TO FINAL FANTASY! this looks cool tho it'll tide me over the final fantasy dissidia :))

  • did you use an emulator?

  • theres a psp emulator?

  • looks amaizing

  • how did you get this footage? did you capture it yourself? if so, how?

  • @Jprime777 by using remotejoy
