You and Dazzle are sooooo good, I saw your distance work in another video, it was amazing! How did you train that? Is there a certain Dvd that would help me? My dog starts spinning if I even try to send her 5 or 10 feet from an obstacle. I'm 15 and do agility (AKC and USDAA) with a 7or 8 year old Beagle, who has just started to slow down a little. We may not be as good and fast as you and Dazzle, but we have a lot of fun training and competing. You guys are our inspiration. Thanks.
Yes, it's better to. You will need to (unless you have a willing person near by to hold your dog's leash) crate your dog while you walk the courses. Hope that helped :))
I think my puppy, ella, might benefit from this. can agility be done just for fun and not for a tournament? is that silly? I just would love to nurture that ability in her but only for fun and for her to have a therapeutic experience. and then if she likes it .... who knows, right?
That would be great! Tons of people, most I would say - start with the intention of doing it just for fun. Often later the decide to compete but plenty just train and play with their dogs without ever competing. :)
that on the end was your dog right? AMAZING DOG!! GREAT VIDEO! but can i trene my when he is 5? :S i dont know it.... :D AWESOME VIDEO! 1000/1000 okey xD 5/5
It is never too late to start training your dog! Just make sure your dog is physically healthy before you start any jumping with him (you can ask your vet if you want to be sure that it's okay).
I was searching Google for information on dog agility and happened across your video. I really appreciate the clear descriptions and great examples. I am now looking forward to taking an introductory class with my dog!
This is a very helpful video! When I ask some people if they know what dog agility is, they go Huh? What? It gets a little annoying to explain over and over and back and again! Maybe I should just send this video to them all!
What a great video! My wife has been doing agility with our dogs for about 10 years now, and when I try to explain Agility to people, they always get a blank look on their faces, or refer to "doing tricks" or Best In Show type events. Now I know where to refer them to get a good example of the sport. Video worth thousand words. BTW, you're an excellent agility handler and video producer.
Wow! That is EXACTLY what I needed! I just taught my dog to go through a chute today, and she did great. She's not fast (yet), but we're working on it. I just started training her, and we're both new to it. How did you start off with agility? Did you buy an agility course set, or did you make your own ramps, jumps, etc? I made the chute, and will make the rest of the agility tools. Next up is the weave poles! Thanks again, it really helped!
Courses have just 6 poles in a couple of our organizations at the lower levels. In the higher levels there are always at least 12 poles on a course. :)
Nice video, good answers for probably every questions of beginners in agility. I just would ask you - every parkours in your country are so easy, or it was just some special race? Thanks :) btw, I love your T-shirt!
KooL vid once again i luv da way dat saint bernard trys to climb up the A frame it obviously just wasn't working XD luvin dazzle keep up the good work Xx
You did a great job on your video. How amazing! You have trained Dazzle well. I bet you have many prizes for dog agility.

Why do you have only 6 weave poles? Is this normal in your country?
Because in Poland we have 12 weave poles....:-)
