To the naysayers, I would argue that if the intelligence agencies are collecting data on everyone, how would you know it?

And if they apply the law "selectively", Joe-Establishment might never feel the effects! But someone that disagreed with the gov't might!

Just ask J. Edgar Hoover how he maintained a grip on the FBI for so long? DOSSIERS on his political enemies! Could the intelligence agencies potentially control the government with dossiers (i.e. blackmail)? That's why it's so dangerous!

Sorry but according to my constitution those rights aren't there. The only phones being tapped were those receiving overseaas calls. The election was fair despite Gore's attempts to manufacture votes from chads and dimples in select counties and as far as gitmo? well, I can't see how an enemy or prisoner is entitled to due process. I'd like to hear the answer to that myself. My life changed more under the Clinton years then it did under the Bush years.

My only complaint is that Bush did little to correct those changes - did little to reduce immigration, stop jobs from moving overseas, reduce crime, and so on.

Seems both the Democrats and Republicans are united on some things, since both allowed these things to happen or did little to stop or reduce them.
