I would love to build it myelf, but not the soldering of boards (too boring to me) But i sure the hell wont wait 6-9 MONTHS to get a $2,000.00 radio! I would wait a week or so, but im either going used, or something off the shelf! Many good radios to choose from! Maybe for a 2nd one i might build it. then im not likely to want to get on the air ASAP!!! Nice Video! 73's  Joe

I like the video. But I refuse to buy a radio that I will get 6 months later. So I'm buying another FT-2000. It brings out every function to a knob, so no cryptic menu settings. Thanks.

I like Elecraft gear, but don't feel much of a sense of satisfaction after building stuff. It's like building your own blender or hair dryer from a kit--it still just looks like a commercial hair dryer. That's a hard criticism to make, because the Elecraft stuff is so useful and fun to assemble. I feel guilty for wishing it looked more cobbled together.
