Too Bad, That The City That I live In Monterrey, Mexico, We Don't Have Latin Masses, but I love one single Latin Mass In My City, Because I'm Learning Latin with Our Father, and The Ave Maria, But unfortunately, I'm still hearing the mass in Spanish, but Latin, Is the One That I Want To Hear For The 1st Time in my life, beautiful mass in Latin, and It's WONDERFUL!!!!! :-)

@spitzer72 I am also very much in favour of the Tridnetine mass and I prefer it to the Novous ordo because it gives us a taste of heaven on Earth. BUT we can't hold everything Lefebrve did as infalible and doctinal, there was clear disobedience towards the Pope. Schisms hurt the whole Church. He should have bowed his head and allowed God to lead the way. BTW I admire lefebrve, he was a gentlemen and spoke the truth, its just that consecration which ruined everything.

@priest008 Please don't be a fool, the consecration ruined nothing and quite the opposite, it probably SAVED the Catholic Church. Without Ven Lefebvre (Pope Benedict calls him that) we would have lost everything. He was and is a HERO who did God's work. @priest008 Splinter sects have always come and gone but not this time, LeFebvre was inspired by the Holy Ghost and as history is proving, he was 100% correct in his actions. Also, the three bad Popes in a row, (valid popes but bad nonetheless) John XXIII, Montini, and JP2 were leading the Church down a freemasonic rat hole. Lefebvre said no but unlike the heretic Luther, he was 100% correct not in violation of any canon laws. JP2 was wrong in his exommunication which is now proven.

Thank God for Benedict XVI! Unfortunately, he came too late. After twenty-six years of the "yankee pope" John Paul II (who had nothing in common with John Paul I but the name), it might take a miracle to bring back the true Mass. You have to note that both of the masses are still valid, and will be valid for ever.

I acknowledge that many novus masses are done very wrong. But here in Europe we still have a lot of churches with !Latin! novus masses, incense, (only) altarboys etc.

Which still are beautiful to me.

Note also that the blessed pope Benedict is still celebrating the novus mass everyday...

But hell, the Tridentine Mass is much more fun ain't it!

Exactly, these traditionalists are too extreme and they end up loosing all their argument which is sad because most of the things they say are right, but when they state ignorant things such as "consecration is invalid without a maniple" is just a sign of mental illness, I love the tridentine mass but I have been to Novous ordo which is done all in latin and very solemn such as Recital of Salve regina at the end and communion at the rails.

That is certainly true. I could not agree more. But I am nearly 20. And I was brought up with the New Mass.

I was taught to genuflect when entering and leaving a church. And to genuflect before receiving the communion. Which I prefer on my tongue. But since most churches don't have altar rails anymore, no one taught me to kneel on the floor before priest. I still receive the communion standing.

Although I dó like the idea to kneel when receiving the Communion.

The Mass is not about preferences or "catering to our needs." The Mass is the unbloody re-presentation of the sacrifice of calvary. They are one and the same. GOD deserves the most reverent worship that man can give HIM. The Novus Ordo is, as the present Holy Father has called it, "a banal, on the spot product." Tradition must flourish. Not just the traditional liturgy, but doctrine and practice as well.

agni2007: the church does not say that the vernacular language is the best. the second vatican council, itself, said that Latin is to remain the language of the liturgy, and the vernacular may be employed in specific parts for pastoral reasons. SSPX is not in union with Rome but there masses are valid but illicit. Pope Pius X was against the roman missal for the laity. It was published against his will and then became common at mass. Latin is the Language of the church. Pope Benedict reaffirmed that in his apostolic exhortation Sacramentum Caritatis that Latin should be used in mass. The norvus ordo mass has it fruits and is a good mass except for priest with bad formation celebrating it wrong and taking the sanctity out of the mass.

I get sick of hearing the English hymns. God doesn't change so why should His Church? Vatican II was a trial or something to get more people to go to church. I don't see the front doors of churches being plowed down by the overwhelming crowds. People don't go to church like they used to. The Latin Mass was the Mass the saints went to. I love the Latin Mass. It seems so much more holy, personal, & super-encompassing than vernacular Mass as I'm Roman Catholic. I will pray for the restoration of the Latin Mass. I went to a Latin Tridentine Mass for Christmas Eve several years ago, sponsored by the Fraternite de Notre Dame in Chicago. It was so holy and personal. The genuine expression of abandonment of one self to serve our Lord by the celebrant made the Mass so worthy, loving, and climactic. It seems so right.
