This was an interesting film, primarily because it highlights the profound ignorance and terribly misguided delusions of utopianism western 'communists' in the 60s.
But in this age of mass communication, its incredible to think that there are naive people who still cling to the Mao myth and malicious individuals who promote it, solely to oppose capitalism. China is not really a communist country any more. They cling to Mao as a matter of 'pride' but thats it. Chinese intellectuals know the truth
Chairman Mao was the most destructive leader of the twentieth century in terms of lifes lost. He easily ranks with Hitler and Stalin. These were not misguided policies; they were deliberately orchestrated acts of destruction. Bratty westerners who think they are opposing Capitalism by endorsing Maoism are insulting the MILLIONS who perished under this tyrant. They think they are smart with their pathetic red slogans but I notice they have no problem using Youtube (wait isn't that a corporation?)
@goback3spaces you don't know anything about Mao, or history, beyond the stupid narrative spun to you by the History Channel and Coca Cola. You wouldn't know anything about famines, natural or man-made, to save your life, but yet you play a bit role in the on-going murder of the world majority. Kool
By the way, c'est Gérard Guégan qui a écrit les paroles de cette chanson, et son interprète n'est autre que Claude Channes. La muisque enfin est de Gérard Hugé. Yhe Clashman
Alo mate, In case you have not obtained Claudes "Mao Mao" I have it and would be glad to share it with you. Let me know which way would be easier for you to obtain it.

I'm torn by my love for Godard as an artist and my horror at his political naivete in extolling a murderer like Mao.

@mistarcraw I don't get the history channel. Don't drink Coke, either, but I did own the stock for awhile. Capitalist swine, that's me.

@goback3spaces You can continue to love Godard. This film is a parody. Meant to be taken with irony.

@klassyp A PARODY? OF WHAT? Try to be specific, because I truly have no idea what you mean.
