Pitbulls a breed that I really respect. My uncle had a pitbull mix and he was so sweet you could trust him around a newborn infant, I should know since we have alot of parties at his house and the people always brought their kids and babies, they would crawl all over him and he would never mind. It was so sad when he died. It never ceases to amaze me how people always rush to give these dogs such a bad reputation when they can be the best dogs around.

It is true that over time they have been bred to be fighters, but rehabilitated dogs can change. Also: golden retrievers are shooting up on the list of most aggressive breeds, because of inbreeding by the result of demand. It's much more likely for an inbred GR to bite than a rehabilitaed/nicely raised PB. Search sharky the pit bull. Try to get rid of your ignorance plz

I think pitbulls get a bad rep. They are good dogs, if the breeder isn't a complete douchebag!!

My ex-wife has two pitbulls, and they are the friendliest and are GREAT with her other kids!! The kids are 3 and 4 and play with them all the time.

But, she did get it from a quality breeder. The problem is the media only points out the bad in them...

I have worked at a shelter for three years and I have seen MANY pits..most were used for fighting and only three out 132 pits were put down due to their behavior.If you stop with the ignorance for a sec and get to know one you will see that they are the exact opposite of what people make them out to be.I know more evil labs, golden ret. and poodles than pits.

I am an owner of a pitty and let me tell you he's a great dog! Not all pitts are stubborn, mine does very well with baths and cars and chihuahuas too!

I feel that people take advantage of their high energy and prey drive to manipulate a pitbull to be more aggressive.

If you can train the pitt to be more calm and transfer that energy to another positive activity.. he will become an excellent companion.

If you would read back, nobody is claiming that pits "maul" fewer people than other breeds. Physical damage done by these strong dogs is significantly higher due to physical capabilities of the dogs. My wife currently works for the SPCA and it never ceases to amaze me, how people believe pitbulls are naturally mean. It's so arrogant and misinformed I just want to rip thier faces off sometimes. I told him, no way could we keep him (due to the fact that we were not prepared for the breed, we own another breed of terrier, and our fence is not secure enough). This is a wonderful breed of dog, THEY do not deserve the "rap" they get!!! They just need owners who are more intelligent than they are!!!
