i saw her read once and answer questions at a bookstore in Berkeley, and she was a great reader, very funny and cool with everyone. it was clear she is otherworldly smart and self-conscious, a little bit of Fran Leibowitz in there? Much of the book is on the Edna O'brien / Alice Munro / William Trevor level, imo, check it out.
was so thrilled to find this hilarious talk given by my favorite author.
