  • Your aviary is amazing ! I love the idea of making a real garden for the parrots. But could you tell me what kind of non toxic plants you have selected ? Same question for the ground ? How do you clean the aviary ? It must be very difficult

  • @animOgen1 Thanks. There are many non-toxic plants and trees you can use. A few we commonly use are palms, hibiscus, crape myrtle, river birch, fig. It's cleaned by spraying w/ a hose and with raking.

  • You would think this would make them happy enough not to pluck. Were they already in this condition when you got the birds? The ones that plucked, have they stopped by now?

  • @gingerolivia Yes, they had plucking issues prior to arriving.  Many times with the older birds there is folicle damage which prevents feathers from coming back in.
