i work in retail and people come in daily for an application, also min. wage jobs. The mgmt. hires middle age people with degrees for min. wage jobs. the 16-19 year old kids really have competition these days with people that have a degree and just want any ol' job to pay a few bills.
I will tell you what kind of jobs are being "created" here in the midwest. A job fair was held here recently with an opening of 200 positions at a new retail store. Now, these are mostly minimum-wage jobs, not white collar. Over 1000 people showed up with resumes in hand. The new store-located almost two hours away. Desperate times indeed.

i work in retail and people come in daily for an application, also min. wage jobs. The mgmt. hires middle age people with degrees for min. wage jobs. the 16-19 year old kids really have competition these days with people that have a degree and just want any ol' job to pay a few bills.

I will tell you what kind of jobs are being "created" here in the midwest. A job fair was held here recently with an opening of 200 positions at a new retail store. Now, these are mostly minimum-wage jobs, not white collar. Over 1000 people showed up with resumes in hand. The new store-located almost two hours away. Desperate times indeed.

Were already in an inflationary enviroment just look at the cost of a candy bar. 15 years ago you could buy a candy bar for 45 cents now its almost 3 times that amount. Same goes for everything else we buy. A devalued dollar will take us into a hyperinflation senario.

Inflation will happen for goods that we import: Food, gas, cheap foreign products (why we are importing food is due to really bad domestic food policies) Deflation will happen in housing, rents, luxury products, items that have little demand without cheap credit. If the world dumps our currency, it won't likely enter into circulation, but it'll devalue the dollar, that imports will become far more expensive, this may spark a move towards domestic production again.

I saw it in the theatre and have no interest in seeing it again. I did notice the Shock and Awe approach of setting off a nuke in NYC to bring peace to the world.
