... The Insight inpopularity has nothing to do with how it's perceived. It's how it compares to its competitor, the Prius - that's the problem. The guy you spoke with would probably be the kind to get a Fusion Hybrid instead (there are options for those who feel they're weird, and they're not nearly as popular as the hybrid-only models).
right..prius puts up a good fight..but its more money and more unconventional, too...

@Vitaminous The PRIUS is not a direct competitor.
The insight is a compact car, prius a midsize.
The next Generation 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid will be a hatch and compete with the Prius. (it will have a 2-mode hybrid system)
