It is certainly possible that we humans have acquired this alien technology by reverse engineering 'supposedly' crashed craft, trickling down the technology in suitable intervals. Having various photographs of various types of unidentified craft one could also suggest that there are various types of extraterrestrials some perhaps working with a shadowy Government for a particular agenda and others working against it. Highly unlikely, my friend. The chances of human beings reverse-engineering are all but slim. We simply could have neither the technology or the knowhow to recreate such alien devices. And there is also the fact that our industrial capacity is not as advanced as the aliens'. Imagine if the ancient Romans or Chinese Hans were given a brand new space-shuttle. Much like how there are billions of galaxies out there yet no real proof that extraterrestrial life exists but assert that there is a possibility. Furthermore, the ancients didn't have jet propulsion systems at the time, but we do today and if similar technology were introduced (alien spacecraft) it would probably be much easier for us attempt to reverse engineer because we have the industry available.

In the past (the ancients) they didn't have planes, or rocket ships so if "aliens" presented them with technology they wouldn't be able to reverse engineer where as today we could probably do it for we have more knowledge about flight, propulsion and have the readily resources to do this. It doesn't matter what our level of technology stands as of now, if we were presented with technology thousands of years in advance of ours, there is no way that we could reverse-engineer it within 60 years. Frankly I doubt that any one who has used the R-engineering argument has even the slightest idea of how complex jet-engines are, and how much engineering and science is needed in order to make one. Take my word as a current pilot in training, when the first jet-engine was designed and built, it took decades to do so. In the past when humans had to reverse-engineer tech from another nation, it took a lengthy while of time. Faced with doing the same with alien tech, we will be all but stupified.

Name one gadget that has taken decades to reverse engineer?
