Billy was pissed because he was sitting there with his bandmate to have an interview about his music, and the host insisted on setting a foundation that billy was an oscar winning actor/screenwriter. This was rude to billy and rude to his bandmates. Any musician would understand this, I am a musician and pretty much all my friends are musicians - we all agree. Billy sabotaged to interview because it started with an inconsiderate host saying thing that were off limits

@psomm1234 the man interviewing him is also a musician. a quick look at any of his other interviews would reveal that he is a smart man with alot of personal knowldge on the lifestyle. he did not insist upon anything, he merely mentioned the fact that he was an actor so as to clarify who he was speaking to to radio listerners and went on to ask questions about his band, which he refused to answer. Thorton was rude not only to Jian, but to his band, who ended up getting bad press because of him.

He did an awful lot of drawing attention to and talking about something he didn't want attention drawn to or to talk about. The interviewer made the briefest comment about acting and music as a first love and then moved on to talk about the band. Billy Bob Thorton then hijacked the interview from his band mates and made himself the focus with his silly, immature, self important, attention seeking behavior.

The interviewer was given to understand that they wanted the focus of the interview to be on the band and the music and he did indeed respect that. He said a very few words about BBT being an actor and music being his first love and then moved on to conduct the interview. It wasn't like he was giving away top secret information, this is information that is common knowledge and is in everyone's minds anyway.

He was right in pointing out that people would have thought it odd if he hadn't briefly mentioned it before moving on to interview the band. He was not the one who showed disrespect and took the focus of the interview off the band, BBT did that himself. Billy Bob should apologize for getting his panties in a knot and move on instead of trying to excuse and justify his behavior.

Hey lowkeyname, I'll first state that as an American, Canada fucking rocks! I've been there plenty of times and Billy is the one who is the 'mashed potatoes w/o the gravy'. What gets me, especially after seeing him on Bill Maher, is that he was there with his bandmates to promote the group and their album and he blames the entire incident on 'the DJ in Canada.' It was Jian who blew it (whether Jian and/or producers broke their promises is irrelevant); it was Billy Bob's FUCKING EGO that blew it!

Here's my thing: If Billy Bob felt that Jian and his producers broke their 'agreement' about not mentioning his film career in the intros then he should've just walked out and instructed his bandmates to do the same. Fine. But his actions made it the news that it was. I don't know Billy Bob, seems like a nice guy, but that did not help him.
