This is an American Bandstand clip shot at WFIL TV[ABC], at 46th and Market Sts. in Phila.In typical ABC practice of the time this is a poor film transfer from the master videotape as the per foot cost of tape was more than film.In 1963, "AB" was a Saturday afternoon show and left Phila. for Hollywood in January 1964. Any AB clip from the Philly era is exceedingly rare and only one relatively complete episode from 12/18/57 is believed to survive. Portions of that broadcast turn up on You Tube.

like i said it could be. even the guys would straighten their hair in en effort to take out the kinky look. raelettes, shirelles, supremes all wore wigs. we went to a dick clark caravan show and got to talk to the shirelles and they complained how hot the wigs were

From about 1:24 to 1:52 the Ronette in the middle has the most polished dance

moves, and it's not Ronnie. Being 1963, she was probably told to chill out, let Ronnie be the most noticed. Thus, THIS is more adventurous to view. Enjoy!
