There are also far less apps on the android market (think upwards of 100,000 less) but there are more apps that modify the appearance and functionality of your device. Basically, the android market isn't as good as the app store, so don't use it as a reason to choose an android device over an iOS device.

@22kewlkid actually not true, about the display. dont get me wrong, the iphone is my sworn enemy. but the retina display FAR out clarifies its images by thousands and thousands of pixels- even on the largest ones like the streak and the infuse 4g. the superamoled devices just have higher color contrast. so its really a matter of absolute clarity vs brighter colors.
Ok so on android you can download apps that completely change the look of the OS without voiding the warranty. However apple has better app selection. Take your pick
@america123jeff The App Store has 5 times as many apps as the Android market. And jail breaking your device does NOT void the warranty, but apple will not service a jailbroken device. (Simply restore it to factory settings in iTunes)

All of my friends that have an Iphone(even jailbroken) prefer my phone over theirs. Now that the Galaxy S2 is out, I predict that one will also end up being better than the upcoming Iphone5

Most people with an iPhone in my experience have it on a contract. Maybe they're all just butthurt that they can't end a contract after it's been started so they're stuck with their iPhone for another 1-2 years.

Apple hardware products have an increased prize because Apple want to make the people think that it is better quality, but its not.
Just compare the smartphone hardware specs and prizes, Apple products are very deceiving. Especially when it comes to Laptops and Computers. Windows and Linux have much more functions and are much better to customize. Mac OS X is just an OS for noobs who don't now how to use a Computer and are easily impressed by its simplicity and beauty. Safari sucks, Chrome rocks
@auskudestroy THE STUPIDD ITTT BURRNSSSS. Laptops and computers? A laptop is a computer. Windows is a line of operating systems, and linux is a kernel. I know how to use a computer, I use Mac OS X. I run two websites and an 800 player minecraft server on Mac OS X. I prefer it for its stability, but it still has way more out of the box "functions" then windows 7 or ubuntu. What you are doing is making wild assumptions about things you don't understand, be quiet.
I don't have anything against you, but Mac OS X has very limited functions, you are a prisonner of the "Apple Universe". I use Linux Mint 11and it freed me of the Microsoft and Apple universe. You have to pay money for crappy Mac OS X software where all the functions are already defined apart from terminal. I have the liberty to improve software and not to pay for the software. I also have the liberty to completely change my system and or to improve it.
@auskudestroy I don't mind paying for something if it is a more complete package. While there is some good free software for linux distributions, it isn't as good as adobe software. Just curious, how many OS X devices do you own?
@brainslurper I use Mac OS X and the whole Adobe suite at school. The Adobe software might be a bit better than free software (PHOTOSHOP vs Gimp, PREMIERE vs Kdenlive, BLENDER vs After Effects) but open source software is widely extendable and you pay hundreds or thousands of Dollars or Euros to get the Adobe software.
Try out Gimp and Blender 2.57 or Python. Try out Firefox or Chrome or Vlc. Try out Linux Mint 10/11 (11 = less stable interface because of new Gnome 3.0). Everything for free.
Apple has far more stuff in it's app store than any one of the thousands of android app stores. It is the difference between shopping at a megamall and a corner store. You will always get something you want out of the app store without having to dig for it through a thousand sites.

It took a 1GhZ processor and 512 mb ram to get smooth transistions, they dont even bother with transitions for the accelerometer, iphones have the best software, and with the iphone 4 they have good hardware, that easily outclasses ANY android. Boasting about a better camera is pointless if the camera app is crap and annoying to use (which it is)

@MrBADBOY636 think youve got that backwards pal. iphone copied several things from android devices and other smart phones before android was around.Multi-touch, front facing camera, touch, dual core processors, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, noise cancellation (not sure if iphone even has that yet tbh..) etc..
and in what way is the G2, droid line, my touch line, or evo line anything like an iphone? aside from having a big touch screen, theyre quite different.

Apple hardware products have an increased prize because Apple want to make the people think that it is better quality, but its not.
Just compare the smartphone hardware specs and prizes, Apple products are very deceiving. Especially when it comes to Laptops and Computers. Windows and Linux have much more functions and are much better to customize. Mac OS X is just an OS for noobs who don't now how to use a Computer and are easily impressed by its simplicity and beauty. Safari sucks, Chrome rocks

@auskudestroy THE STUPIDD ITTT BURRNSSSS. Laptops and computers? A laptop is a computer. Windows is a line of operating systems, and linux is a kernel. I know how to use a computer, I use Mac OS X. I run two websites and an 800 player minecraft server on Mac OS X. I prefer it for its stability, but it still has way more out of the box "functions" then windows 7 or ubuntu. What you are doing is making wild assumptions about things you don't understand, be quiet.

I don't have anything against you, but Mac OS X has very limited functions, you are a prisonner of the "Apple Universe". I use Linux Mint 11and it freed me of the Microsoft and Apple universe. You have to pay money for crappy Mac OS X software where all the functions are already defined apart from terminal. I have the liberty to improve software and not to pay for the software. I also have the liberty to completely change my system and or to improve it.
PS: Safari sucks a lot

@auskudestroy I don't mind paying for something if it is a more complete package. While there is some good free software for linux distributions, it isn't as good as adobe software. Just curious, how many OS X devices do you own?

@brainslurper I use Mac OS X and the whole Adobe suite at school. The Adobe software might be a bit better than free software (PHOTOSHOP vs Gimp, PREMIERE vs Kdenlive, BLENDER vs After Effects) but open source software is widely extendable and you pay hundreds or thousands of Dollars or Euros to get the Adobe software.
Try out Gimp and Blender 2.57 or Python. Try out Firefox or Chrome or Vlc. Try out Linux Mint 10/11 (11 = less stable interface because of new Gnome 3.0). Everything for free.

Apple has far more stuff in it's app store than any one of the thousands of android app stores. It is the difference between shopping at a megamall and a corner store. You will always get something you want out of the app store without having to dig for it through a thousand sites.

IOS is heavily modified Mach, which is BSD microkernel, also Unix class OS.
There IS no debate, they are both proprietary and both Unix.

hah I like how 1.5 million iPhone 4's were sold day one but when i see an android phone release I see nothing close to that. The HTC SHEVO 3d was released and I think maybe 10 were sold day one. HTC comes out with new phones every month and apple releases one and completely destroys the sales!!!!

And htc had a phone with multi touch a year before the iphone came out. @harobikes8868 Android fans boast about "better hardware" but android hasnt even figured out the basics. It took a 1GhZ processor and 512 mb ram to get smooth transistions, they dont even bother with transitions for the accelerometer, iphones have the best software, and with the iphone 4 they have good hardware, that easily outclasses ANY android. Boasting about a better camera is pointless if the camera app is crap and annoying to use (which it is)
