He is the opposite of Bush, which is what we need at the moment, because of the way that Bush let unregulated growth occur which resulted in a huge crash (Mind you, this is what happened with the Great Depression... stocks went unregulated and got over bloated and a bubble burst) so as a reaction to bush's politics, we elected a more hands on leader to nurture the economic growth more carefully.

Remember he used to sue banks that refused to give out subprime loans to unqualified buyers. It was those very loans that caused the banking crash. Conservatives tried many times to pass new regulations that would have helped prevent the crash, but, Obama, Franks, Dodd and many other Democrats claimed there was no need for them. This is now common knowledge and old news.
