DBZ has never really been one of the animes I watch often but it seems to me like Chi Chi kind of tricked Goku into marrying her and he just married her because he "promised" he would. Other than that she is always yelling at him and he seems scared of her all the time. Maybe thats why he is always taking off to train for years at a time.

@Soniman032 - You're absolutely right. That shit was unforgivable. GT made Goku seem like a derelict father and a horrible husband. I know he's a Saiyan and has a love of training and battle but that was just wrong.

I have to admit the end of DBZ having him run off and abandon his family to train Uub left a bad taste in my mouth too. I hope his training was only in the same sense that he trained Gohan for 3 years before the Androids showed up. They still came home most days.

It was weird how they made Trunks and Goten so much older than Bra and Pan (I actually liked DBGT's rearrangement of the timeline so that Bra and Pan are early teens while Goten and Trunks are only in their very late teens or early 20s, one of the few things about that series I liked). I also hated how they made Goku abandon his family to fly off and train Uub. That bugged me to no end. It made Goku seem like a bad father.
