I have a really good idea: stop reading your bible and christian books, and move on to some good non fiction. You might learn about stuff that you had never considered before. Or try some fiction. You can get a lot from exploring the fictional lives of others, and it's all open for your interpretation. And you'll become a more conscious and enlightened person in the process. Some guy from the 70's. He was a big-time faith healer. Even had a doc crew film his last revival (after he decided to come clean) and showed how he did what he did to fool them.

Based on the life of Marjoe Gortner, who was touted as a child preacher at age 6 by his parents.

He then rebelled and dropped out of the religion and returned to the religion but this time with a film crew and made a documentary about his evangelising showing the tricks of the trade.
