  • ratt n roll

  • hade hard time liken a band named ratt lols of explanenine

  • yes found this this songmiss it for ever i miss the the ratt

  • lol you cant compare ratt and jonas brothers

thats like compairing gold to shit

  • RATT's amazing.. so is great white and poison.. motley crue and guns n roses kick ass. and AC/DC's pretty sweet too.. so stop talking about pussy ass music like the jonas brothers cuz ur fuckin up the song. they dont own up to any of them and they dont deserve to be even trashed on here! geez

  • Can someone PLEASE put up an album version of them just ROCKIN OUT and no gunfights and cowboys? ...And Kelly LeBroc drove a 928 to this song in Wierd Science. HOTT!!

  • It's nice to see someone remembers. ;)

I wish RATT were heard in more movies and TV shows. Their management should have concentrated on getting them more exposure in that regard.

Weird Science, Golden Child, Point Break and The Wrestler aren't bad movies though so I guess it's just a case of quality over quantity.

With that said, RATT were originally going to have a song on the Top Gun soundtrack. I would have loved to have heard one of their songs for the closing scene in Arnie's Commando.

  • RATT RULES!

  • i agree with you Josephkuby im sick of guys like Fall out Bitch Panic at the disco Gym class queers etc.. they need to go away its not music its just to piss people who know music is off

  • Ratt n Roll those were the days!!!!!

  • Love Ratt ! My favorite metal band of the 80's !!!

  • RATT are my favorite band of the '80s too. A long time ago, I would have said Metallica but back in the '80s RATT had more versatility than Metallica and were more melodic but still packed a punch.

  • fucking awesome. Enough said.

  • RATT FUCKIN RIPS!!!!!!

  • Damn, I just can't get enough Ratt!

    RATT N ROLL 4 LIFE!

  • my favorite Ratt tune....love the lyrics

  • wooow this song showd me how FUCKED up my time period is im 14 now n this music kicks ass not that pop garabage lik the johnas bros n fall out boy WTF??? n wat the hell happened 2 kick ass solos anyway?!?!?!? GO RATT!!

  • LOL jonas bros are so gay!! ratt is so cool!

  • ratt beats the fuck out of the jonas brothers and then shits on their faces. they dont even play guitars, then pretend to. faggots.....ratt forever!!! =p

  • jonas brothers suck enough said

  • Solos went down because people lacked the education and creativity of virtuosos like Warren DeMartini. ;)

This decade has got to be the worst decade for music. Prissy Miley, pussy Jonas Bros, puffy emo, recycled pap-rap, poncy weak-ass indie clones, pansy post-grunge crooning and pathetic run-of-the-mill metalcore bands are taking up too much space.

The problem is that, thanks to the internet and Pro-Tools, anyone can make music now which means we're getting saturated with too much filler.

  • yes

the ignorance has taken a lot from culture in general, and so in music.

  • lol at this video, compared to W.A.S.P.'s Blind In Texas video

  • RIP Robbin Crosby - Ratt is one of those very very few glam bands i like!

  • man this song still kicks ass

  • Absolutely!!!!! Those were the days!!!

  • RATT is the Greatest Fucking Band EVER!!!

    and Warren DeMartini is GOD!

  • Ditto. I mentioned in more specific detail why they were the best on the 'Dance' video.

Basically, they were versatile in a way that was very subtle even if they weren't as diverse lyrically. They weren't one dimensional like AC/DC.

RATT are also one of the most consistent bands around. The only bad thing about them is that they split in 1991 when they could have been rocking with the best of them in the '90s.

Their flair for edgy music could have rivaled Pantera, Metallica and Nirvana.

  • Maybe they look good

  • Maybe they look good

  • thier look may have been glam i don't think thier music was very glam just straight forward = nice

  • I agree wholeheartedly.

  • RATTS best tune by far imo.

  • In a way you're right.

Ste's vocals are the most impressive in this one.

There's a nice dynamic between softer and harder sounds. The whole calm verse / edgy chorus thing makes me wonder if Metallica and Nirvana were inspired by RATT.

I know Metallica covered Round and Round in 1993 so it's possible that they may have been influenced by RATT even if they didn't like their image or lyrics.

I always thought that Metallica's fixation on acoustic intros were inspired by RATT's Back For More.

  • ребятки это круто!!!я столько искал.СПС

  • Favorite RATT song.

    Badass.

  • im going to see them with tempest reign on the 19th

  • Im going to see them in about 3 hours.

  • as a 40 something balding rocker these were the future of aor the current rock scene looks very poor by comparison GOD HELP US ALL WHEN THE NEW WORLD ORDER ARRIVES WHAT WILL WE LISTEN TO................. nuff said.....

  • Ratt on a hot night in the 80's really could rock out an arena and their songs have actually reached classic status in 2008. They wrote tremendous rock songs that were catchy but had balls and swagger. I didn't care one iota about the make up and glam; the songs were always the thing. The band just hat " it " and their music will live on forever.

  • Exactly. The songs were catchy but at the same time ROCKED. Reminds me of a lesser version of Van Halen in the early days.

  • I agree. RATT were a truly great band. Even Pantera started off with the whole glam thing and I personally think RATT's debut record, the self-titled EP, has more balls and swagger than Pantera's first album, Metal Magic.

Honestly, it sounds like Vulgar Display of Power in comparison to Metal Magic.

What I always liked about RATT was their perfect middle-ground sensibility in sounding melodic and hard.

Listen to some of today's metal: it's growl and scream one minute then whine the next.

  • saw em live...does no justice!

  • what ever happened to all the good bands ,the future of metal doesnt look good,

  • agreed brother

  • Right, Im only 20 and music like this still holds up after all those years.

  • For those of us that reached drinking age in the 80's , Ratt gave us a soundtrack for a lot of wild nights. The bars that catered to the rock bands of that time were wild. A lot of things the Moral Majority wouldn't have approved of went down in those bars, parking lots etc....

    :-)

  • I sang in a band between '83-'85. We did some Ratt, because it was fairly easy to play. Their music wasn't bad; cool guitar riffs, etc. But they looked so darn stupid that no one ever admitted to actually liking them. I think that's what the hairbands from the 80s never understood: If you look like a chick very few guys are going to openly dig your music. Dokken is another great example. George Lynch rocks, but, man, did they look stupid!

  • killer check out freedom and whiskey here on u tube thanks

  • Ratt is way better then Poison. Go back to playing Rock Fags and Gaytar Hero.

  • I had the privlage of seeing RATT a few times while I was in high school, loved them then and still LOVE them!!

  • Awesome song!!

  • this song is the shit

helll this band is the shit!!!

  • fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome, I love this song!

  • This is a awsome song but the videos real cheesy. I love out of the celler one of the best metal cds of the 80s

  • For '80s standards, it's a decent video.

I think there were far more worse ones though (metal and in general) such as one of Kix's first videos and particularly one of the band Kick Axe.

  • I don't even think Ratt realized how cool they were. Songs like this... OMG! This was 1980s rock at its best. What a great rock and roll band!

  • you could'nt say it any better then that

  • Warren Demartini is the best name ever

  • Much cooler than Kirk Hammett, CC Deville, Mick Mars, Saul Hudson or James Hetfield. ;)

  • yes ratt was on the list best 80s bands

  • rip robin crosby warren demartini is the man jamm those strings bro

  • check out alcatrazz if you want to see an underrated great band. Ratt was real good. Y and T had some cool songs too.

  • Ratt & roll

  • Demartini, man I love his solos.

  • i did a worked a gig with them at the Cove Thearter in Hermosa Beach,ca when they where just geting started

  • Great song

    Glam 4ever

  • Actually, Y&T is one of the most underrated bands, but Ratt is pretty damn good as well. I'm not downing Ratt in any way, just acknowledging Y&T is all.

  • yup great comment i love em both "i believe in you" was incredible, black tiger and so many more.... and i saw em in 1982 opening for AC/DC,Dave meneketti is an amazing singer guitarist and frontman

  • YES! Thank you for the comment! I almost forgot all about them. They ARE awesome!

  • Thank god I was born in 70, I was able to see just about every metal/glam band out there. Ratt being one of my favorites, Thanks for all the great ass tunz boyz! and thanx for the chix with big hair, R.I.P Robbin

  • im 28 my dad used to drag me to ratt concerts all the time glad he did all those times good shit there man

  • Ratt n Roll bitches! RIP Robbin

  • Ratt's music - it's good and it's easy to dance to.

  • crashdiet are very amazing, theyve brought the whole glam/sleaze rock back to europe a couple of years ago, so did hardcore superstar.Check out "riot in everyone" and "breaking the chainz" by crashdiet. Theres also silence for the peacefully by hardcore superstar. Dirty pennys' "scream and shout" as well as their "Vendetta" is pretty good. Wig wam look a little freaky but theyre pretty good, very classic.

  • Anyone able to recommend any current bands that sound like this?

  • vains of jenna are an underground ok rock band out there, but other than that, glam is pretty dead :(

  • RATT AND ROLL HELL YEAH!!!

  • RATT N ROLL!!!! These guys always impressed me with their awesome sounding mix.

  • great song. rip robbin crosby

  • The guy holding the shot gun (3:30 and after) looks like John Kalodner before he and his beard went grey. LOL

    Could that be him?

  • RATT N ROLL FOREVER MAN!!!

  • ratt n roll rule

  • (sniff)ah the good ol days of aquanet and spandex(sniff sniff)

  • most retards think round and round ( some severe retards think it what goes around comes around) is ratts only hit but ratt is a fucking awsome band and i would do anything short of killing some1 to see them live

  • seriously-I know round and round isnt even they're best song man Im not sure they have a best-they ALL rule!

  • ratt n roll! do i need to say more?

  • amen brotha!

  • i want to keep listening AND bing this legendary suff back, the world needs REAL MUSIC now after the 90's and modern music just about killed ooff the world's pop with it's trashiness!

  • FOR GOLDENAGEROCK - no bands left like the ones from this era!

  • Wow.... In all the years I have been a Ratt fan, I have never seen this video.. Nice

  • ever notice how heavy metal hasn't had balls and razor sharp technical since the 80s? was it the last gasp of american manhood? look at all the emo fags today. it's over boys unless we can bring it back or we just keep playing these songs LOUD AND PROUD!!!!

  • YEAH MAN! thats what I said!

  • Don't you mean THE best 80's band?

  • Highly agreed.

Ratt were so much more superior than other bands in that decade.

They were a lot more diverse than people gave them credit it for, Ratt were just simple subtle in the way they went about it.

Their songs were so utterly timeless, whether it be the heavy songs or the ones on the pop side of the metal spectrum. They were so much more open-minded than Metallica.

Metallica may have made more serious-themed music but Warren DeMartini owned both Hetfield and Hammett.

  • DeMartini is nowhere near the skill level of Hammett

  • But you have to wonder whether Hammett could pull off his special stuff without a wah-wah pedal.

  • Hammet sucks, DeMartini is wayyyyyy better.

Well maybe he doesn´t suck, but not better.

Ratt is better than Metallica any fucking day, being more popular doesn´t mean better.

  • I think you mean to say you like Ratt better then Metallica.

  • lies.. hammett isn't even that great of a guitar player. just playing the pentatonic scale really fast doesn't make you good. plenty of ppl can do that at home in their basement

  • one of the best 1980's bands

  • The best version of this song was on thier EP. Longer intro just made the kick in of the guitars that much better. If you have a copy of their fist EP demo that was released so long ago, hang on to it. Gold Jerry.....GOLD!

  • fuckin great song. you dont hear this kinda music these days, you know it gets your blood pumpin!!!

  • now they can play the guitar! rock on guys!

  • What a great song. Thanks for putting it up.

  • This is a good song but it's a rip-off of Quiet Riot's "Bang Your Head (Metal Health)". The similarities are just too obvious.

  • I'm just wondering how do you know that Quiet Riot didn't rip-off this song?

  • Maybe because Quiet Riot's album (Metal Health) was released in 1983 and Ratt's album (Out Of The Cellar) was released in 1984...

    Do the math.

  • i dont see any similarity btw the two songs

  • fucking {A}..thanks man!

  • I saw Bon jovi open for Ratt in the 80's.

  • Fuckin' Metal age!!!

  • wanted!!!!!!!!!!! mannnnnnn!!!!!!!! not quite steven tyler, plant or chris cornell, but awesome. ratt kicked the other hair bands asses.

  • cornell sucks, so does tyler. Plant, now that's good company.

  • Too undeniably true.

Cinderella, Kix, Europe, Dokken, Slaughter, Great White, White Lion, Bon Jovi, Winger, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Poison, Motley Crue, Quiet Riot and Warrant were undermined by Ratt's coolness.

  • any one else there??

  • saw them with posin in southhevan yah!!!!!!!!

  • A girlfriend of mine lent a black and white leopard-print shirt to a model who was filming a RATT video during the eighties in Massachusetts. But we don't know what video is was. If anybody sees that shirt in a RATT video please let me know. Thanks.

  • Are you in contact with the model from the video?

I think the video you're referring to is Slip of the Lip.

  • good tune

  • does any body else out there remember when they used to play at the woodstock off knott and ball in anaheim.classic nights

  • the first 70 seconfs are really good

  • This Awesome song!

  • are they all still alive? if not, who died/how?? i was a big fan . the music was insync perfectly. alice in chains were influenced alot by ratt

  • They're all still around with the exception of Robbin Crosby, who died of a drug overdose in 2002. (he did not in fact die of AIDS as many people think. yes he had them, but it's not what did him in)

  • which one was crosby in the video? these dudes rocked man. lots of dudes thought they were a girlsband. i was jealous when my girl came outside in a ratt shirt, and took it from her. 1986. with my mullet.

  • the blonde guy

  • mikeit64 what the hell are some kind of fuckin einstein who cares if he died of aids or a drug overdose he still kicked ass so shut the fuck up

  • I never said he didn't. Simply said he died of a drug overdose and not aids.

Just for the record, Robin Crosby kicked all sorts of ass, along with the rest of Ratt.

  • ha ha glam metal cowboys

  • bro glam stands for gay la metal when u say glam metal its like sayin gay la metal metal

  • Stop copying off of Dave Mustaine dude

    glam rocks

  • yeah screw Dave Mustaine

  • fuck dave mustane!!!!!!

  • Never rub another man's rhu-Bar'b the wrong way :)

  • love the start of this song! ratt put on a great show in chicago at the rosemont horizon in 87, now it is the allstate arena i think.

  • One of the best intro's ever...Crank it up...Fuckin awsome......

  • Ratt fucking rocks!!!!!!, aleast back in the the day they did!

  • ratt an d roll, fuck the rest

  • i love this Ratt tune bummed they cancelled at the club I go to in Ohio:( ty for sharing!!!

  • this is an era when music was still good. in my opinion the 90's music started sucking and it still goes on today. i'm not saying all but most music from the 90's and today. we need to keep the 60's, 70's and 80's music going. thanks to all who post vids on here to help keep it going.

  • Each generation had their own "genre". The hair metal of the early 80's fazed into grunge and turned "poppy" with the alternative mood of many 90's bands. Personally, you can't say "oh this era sucks" or "60's music blows" because each preceding music form has impacted the next.

I'm a huge fan of the 90's (Being a huge 90's kid) but you're absolutely right...too many kids/ppl don't appreciate great music like Ratt.

  • nineties is definitely when music started to go down hill. there still is some good stuff from the nineties though

  • a perfect reflection of a time when hair exploded!!!

  • a perfect reflection of a time when men were men , and hair was nappy.

  • I grew up with this stuff!! I never get tired of listening to Ratt.

  • saw this tour dec./84 at the orange pavillion. they kicked major ass.knockers galore at that show.met warren de martini at the stones show in la 11/22/06.cool dude.

  • Cool..it's been since like,90,91 I've listened to Ratt. Listening to them now - I really hear a similarity to Def Leppard's Pyromania, in production and sound. I think I remember reading in Crue's The Dirt that Robbin Crosby and Nikki Sixx were roommates once. Remember a story about Robbin telling Nikki he'd better look in the mirror, after he'd been frolicking with a girl across the hall...hahahaha.

  • yea they used to be really close friends

  • Life was better back when King was still alive

  • "I always wanted to be a cowboy".

  • Got wasted amany atime to Ratt-n-roll back in the daze..Unique sound sets them apart from alot of the 80 hairbands.

  • Seeing them on the first of June in Belfast! Going to be fucking class.

  • Me too.LOL

  • RATT is fucking amazing!!! one of the best 80s metal bands out there. I wish music like this was still playing now days, I wasn't born in the heyday of 80s metal.
