I wish RATT were heard in more movies and TV shows. Their management should have concentrated on getting them more exposure in that regard.
Weird Science, Golden Child, Point Break and The Wrestler aren't bad movies though so I guess it's just a case of quality over quantity.
With that said, RATT were originally going to have a song on the Top Gun soundtrack. I would have loved to have heard one of their songs for the closing scene in Arnie's Commando.
i agree with you Josephkuby im sick of guys like Fall out Bitch Panic at the disco Gym class queers etc.. they need to go away its not music its just to piss people who know music is off
RATT are my favorite band of the '80s too. A long time ago, I would have said Metallica but back in the '80s RATT had more versatility than Metallica and were more melodic but still packed a punch.

This decade has got to be the worst decade for music. Prissy Miley, pussy Jonas Bros, puffy emo, recycled pap-rap, poncy weak-ass indie clones, pansy post-grunge crooning and pathetic run-of-the-mill metalcore bands are taking up too much space.
The problem is that, thanks to the internet and Pro-Tools, anyone can make music now which means we're getting saturated with too much filler.
Ditto. I mentioned in more specific detail why they were the best on the 'Dance' video.
Basically, they were versatile in a way that was very subtle even if they weren't as diverse lyrically. They weren't one dimensional like AC/DC.
RATT are also one of the most consistent bands around. The only bad thing about them is that they split in 1991 when they could have been rocking with the best of them in the '90s.

Ratt on a hot night in the 80's really could rock out an arena and their songs have actually reached classic status in 2008. They wrote tremendous rock songs that were catchy but had balls and swagger. I didn't care one iota about the make up and glam; the songs were always the thing. The band just hat " it " and their music will live on forever.
I agree. RATT were a truly great band. Even Pantera started off with the whole glam thing and I personally think RATT's debut record, the self-titled EP, has more balls and swagger than Pantera's first album, Metal Magic.
Honestly, it sounds like Vulgar Display of Power in comparison to Metal Magic.
What I always liked about RATT was their perfect middle-ground sensibility in sounding melodic and hard.
Listen to some of today's metal: it's growl and scream one minute then whine the next.
For those of us that reached drinking age in the 80's , Ratt gave us a soundtrack for a lot of wild nights. The bars that catered to the rock bands of that time were wild. A lot of things the Moral Majority wouldn't have approved of went down in those bars, parking lots etc....
I sang in a band between '83-'85. We did some Ratt, because it was fairly easy to play. Their music wasn't bad; cool guitar riffs, etc. But they looked so darn stupid that no one ever admitted to actually liking them. I think that's what the hairbands from the 80s never understood: If you look like a chick very few guys are going to openly dig your music. Dokken is another great example. George Lynch rocks, but, man, did they look stupid!
Actually, Y&T is one of the most underrated bands, but Ratt is pretty damn good as well. I'm not downing Ratt in any way, just acknowledging Y&T is all.
yup great comment i love em both "i believe in you" was incredible, black tiger and so many more.... and i saw em in 1982 opening for AC/DC,Dave meneketti is an amazing singer guitarist and frontman

The best version of this song was on thier EP. Longer intro just made the kick in of the guitars that much better. If you have a copy of their fist EP demo that was released so long ago, hang on to it. Gold Jerry.....GOLD!
A girlfriend of mine lent a black and white leopard-print shirt to a model who was filming a RATT video during the eighties in Massachusetts. But we don't know what video is was. If anybody sees that shirt in a RATT video please let me know. Thanks.
They're all still around with the exception of Robbin Crosby, who died of a drug overdose in 2002. (he did not in fact die of AIDS as many people think. yes he had them, but it's not what did him in)
which one was crosby in the video? these dudes rocked man. lots of dudes thought they were a girlsband. i was jealous when my girl came outside in a ratt shirt, and took it from her. 1986. with my mullet.
this is an era when music was still good. in my opinion the 90's music started sucking and it still goes on today. i'm not saying all but most music from the 90's and today. we need to keep the 60's, 70's and 80's music going. thanks to all who post vids on here to help keep it going.
Each generation had their own "genre". The hair metal of the early 80's fazed into grunge and turned "poppy" with the alternative mood of many 90's bands. Personally, you can't say "oh this era sucks" or "60's music blows" because each preceding music form has impacted the next.
I'm a huge fan of the 90's (Being a huge 90's kid) but you're absolutely right...too many kids/ppl don't appreciate great music like Ratt.
saw this tour dec./84 at the orange pavillion. they kicked major ass.knockers galore at that show.met warren de martini at the stones show in la 11/22/06.cool dude.
Cool..it's been since like,90,91 I've listened to Ratt. Listening to them now - I really hear a similarity to Def Leppard's Pyromania, in production and sound. I think I remember reading in Crue's The Dirt that Robbin Crosby and Nikki Sixx were roommates once. Remember a story about Robbin telling Nikki he'd better look in the mirror, after he'd been frolicking with a girl across the hall...hahahaha.
RATT is fucking amazing!!! one of the best 80s metal bands out there. I wish music like this was still playing now days, I wasn't born in the heyday of 80s metal.
love this song used to see these guys all the time in anaheim in a small club off of ball rd dante fox always played there too now called great white i think the place was called woodstock just a hole in the wall place lot of good bands played there saw ronnie montrose, steeler

Their songs were so utterly timeless, whether it be the heavy songs or the ones on the pop side of the metal spectrum. They were so much more open-minded than Metallica.

this is an era when music was still good. in my opinion the 90's music started sucking and it still goes on today. i'm not saying all but most music from the 90's and today. we need to keep the 60's, 70's and 80's music going. thanks to all who post vids on here to help keep it going.
