  • I'm so glad I watched this review! You know what you're talking about when it comes to reviewing video games, Loog, especially game shows! I haven't even thought about renting or buying this one!

  • LOL, I love your Reviews. Keep up the good work!

  • Thank god I still have my 2001 CD-ROM version of Pyramid, not that crap ludia made. BTW 2001 CD-ROM version of Pyramid still works.

  • You should review Wheel of Fortune for the Wii or DS. I'm curious as to your opinion on it.

  • PLEASE REVIEW THE AMAZING RACE FOR THE WII

  • Good review, Tim. Another problem is that there's absolutely no shots of the Winner's Circle pyramid as you play it -- it uses the same angle as the maingame.

My suggestion to those who want to see it for themselves -- borrow it through Gamefly or somesuch and do a point-and-laugh session.

  • RIGGED!

  • You know what's really sad about all of this? The KatieMae presentation software, far from being a complete package, did a much much better job. And it was essentially nothing but a party mode. Good God, Ludia, why can't you clowns get it right?

  • The thing with Lydia games is that they suck for console. But if your like me and buy them all for $5 for the iPhone, they are impressive for the handheld device. I have most kudos games for the iPhone and I will admit I enjoy them but if I had them for the console it would be pretty awful

  • Where's the fun in playing for a million *every* trip to the winner's circle? Sierra's PC adaptation from about a decade ago had you *graduate* to the $100K round step-by-step (first trip I think was for $5K, then $10K, $25K, $50K and finally $100K).

I still have leftover Christmas gift money. But rest assured I'm not wasting it on $1M Pyramid.

  • Hi Loog,

First of all I have to say that I am a reviewer as well, although I review current rock music albums, and I think you did an excellent job of reviewing the game. However, I do have one nitpick. My regular job is government auditor. I looked at your scoring, and 2 + 3 + 1 - 5 = 1. Not the total score of 3 you gave in the review. You gave the game a 200% higher score than needed. Other than that great review.

  • @rebelwrest Whenever I exempt a game from a Plot score, I weigh the other three technical scores more to compensate. That's where the other two points come from.

  • A score of three is too high for this game.

  • outstanding post, especially the part about the airplane hanger. i wanted to like donny osmond's Pyramid so... and couldn't. well done.

  • dont worry, what else can it be worst, Tic Tac Dough Joker's Wild or Double Dare? for Ludia to mess up. hey remember Game Tek?

  • @estestim At least Gametek made great adaptations of Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and to a lesser extent, Classic Concentration and Family Feud for the NES all the way to the N64 before Sony took over.

  • Man, just seeing the clips would put people to sleep. Can we get a new developer, please?

  • That is the brilliantest Only Connect puzzle/Winner's Circle amalgam in the history of Western Civilization.

  • I can't believe we're getting games THIS bad in 2011.

I think the worst parts are the character graphics, (Which look just slightly better than those ugly 3-D character renderings that help you find things in Windows Explorer)

the background graphics, (They clearly put no effort in. The metal beams look as if they disappear into the hideous blue gradient "void".)

    and the generic, boring atmosphere.

Nice review of a s$#@ game.

  • HA! I was right! The back of your Spelling Bee card DOES say "CAR"!!

  • @nowhammies10 What, you thought we'd just smuggle out an "A"?

  • @Loogaroo1 LOL, no. And FWIW, Ludia should have either gone with the Donnymid logo or made the classic set. Lord knows that they would have buggered that up too.

  • I thought this was an April Fool's Joke but I guess I'm wrong.

  • I sorry Loogaroo I beg to differ a little with you. I do like the gameplay very much. For me if there are some words that I do not get right I will look it up in the dictionary and I find out what it means. I do agree with on one thing though, I believe there should be a tournament before you get million dollars. However, I have been undefeated in 10 game of pyramid and won over $5,000,000.

  • @rodney1279 Congratulations on not only missing the point, but spending too much time playing this piece of junk, you certainly must be proud of yourself for your imaginary stacks of fake dollars, earning the adulation of non-existent people nowhere.

  • @Rumpole7722 I do love making fake money on the game, we are all entitled to our own opinion.

  • @rodney1279 Um, if you're undefeated in this game after 10 games, you've won over $10 Million, not $5M. You were paying attention, right?

  • @PeoplemoverMatt He may not have won every Winner's Circle. (Which is quite astonishing, really. I found it to be easier than the front game.)

  • @PeoplemoverMatt I won the main game 10 in a row, but I did not win the winner circle 10 times. I won over $5,000,000 because I did not win in the winner circle. I hope that clears everything up.

  • Loved the review, Tim. I also loved the Winner's Circle of Fail at the beginning as well.
