  • I teared up watching this.

  • As Scotty once said.."Brought a tear to me eye"

Awesome collection of images, quotes and the music from the view of the new beauty in drydock, from The Motion Picture, will always evoke powerful emotions in me. Just as Kirk's eyes came upon his 'lost love' , so do I with this grand lady of the stars.....

  • Their retiring the CVN-65 this year. But there is a petition to have one of the next class of aircraft carriers be named Enterprise!

  • Well done tribute with class.

  • Ahem, I see some of my Star Trek Bridge Commander footage in there. Please give credit where credit is due. Thanks.

  • love the ending

  • i think you left all all of HMS !!

  • Dude. Where did you get this live performance of the

Enterprise from Star Trek: The Motion Picture ???

  • I served on CVN65 and though the CV6 Enterprise is correct I know for certain that that CVN65 does not appear in this video. I know what my home looked like. Other than this historic inaccuracy this was a stunning tribute.

  • The exelccior was called Enterprise??

  • @TypeRCsl the Enterprise B was an excelsior class starship... they're different ships with the same design

  • @techie41789 Yes. And the Enterprise B was a totally different ship variant than the Excelsior prototype.

  • @techie41789 Well, yes and no. Enterprise B IS an Excelsior class starship, but it was a modified Excelisor class at that!

  • @techie41789 Well, yes and no. Enterprise B IS an Excelsior class starship, but it was a refitted Excelisor class at that!

  • @TypeRCsl a so-called sister-ship ;)

  • @TypeRCsl

Of course.Usually the first ship of a new class is named by it's class( like the galaxy class,or the sovereign class)

    Just look at today's navy's.

  • 1:00 Sir... it's the Enterprise!

  • Could have had better music...

  • @Austindude3954 BETTER MUSIC? there is a 8 lettered word for this kind of comment....

  • I hear from my navy friends that the capt of the aircraft carrier, his name is capt kirk..... strange and logical

  • brilliant, this is well put together because it shows man achievments to be what they, awesome.

we have come a long way and star trek shows us how far we have to go !!

  • my favorite ship is the enterprise E

  • where's the Enterprise 1701-J?

  • @NFSfan38 Being tractored by the awesome NCC-1701 refit into a black hole

  • Bin begeistert echt klasse geworden!!!

  • Well done. The music theme from Jerry Goldsmith is also great.

  • Klasse Video echt gelungen!!!

  • I've herd a Rumor that the Next big SuperCarrier the US builds, wich is set to begin construction not long after the current Enterprise is Decomissioned, will carry on the name.

I hope so, It'd be a neat naval tradition.

"There are still plenty of letters in the alphabet."

  • The WWII Enterprise was the most decorated ship in the USN's history. For that reason alone the name needs to be continued. Heroes shouldn't be forgotten.

  • Beyond even the one ship, the name Enterprise is a cultural icon. It really says something when the first space shuttle is named after a vessel that doesn't even exist (it was named after the starship, wich in turn was named for the Carrier).

Me personally, I love pretty much all ships with the name Enterprise. It seems as though the name is destined for greatness no matter whatever carries it.

  • "I served with the Enterprise."

All that needs to be said.

  • ok, that ending part was simply fantastic. 5/5 and faved.

  • Bravo! History shall never forget the name Enterprise! Great vid, nice to see the carriers and the shuttle in there as well as the starships!

  • wonderful and graceful vid of the evolutions of Enterprise. Lets just hope it evolves that far :b

  • thats a 5/5 for sure.but i agree with he shuttle enterprise. All others are still using late 1970's computer parts. and the Enterprise Could have been fitted with todays. and save weight and go much better than it did b4 .I wish that too who knows maybe put skies on it to land on the moon? using a different trust set up. But no its just going to sit in a hanger. TBH that sux. :(

  • that was well done

    5/5 :D

  • Space shuttle Enterprise should of gone into space with all of her other systers.

  • By the time Columbia was launched in 1981 Enterprise was already outdated. They figured it would be cheaper to build a new one then to refit her.

  • Very good. Nothing more to be said.

  • At the end of WWII Admiral of the Fleet Chester Nimitz sent a signal to all ships and stations of the USN: "Well done."

To all the Big E's and their crews, past, present and future -- well done.

    You, too, techie41789

  • Contratulations! This video is very amazing. Perfect sound track. Perfect images.

  • Awesome Vid. Great Tribute. However isn't that the USS Eisenhower CVN-69?

  • you're right, but the footage i used is of CVN-65 USS Enterprise

  • BRAVO!! Nicely done!!

  • 3:29

the music and video was perfect FTW Epic

  • haha as good as the ending of Enterprise was i always felt it was missing something. I knew you could fit all the Enterprises in that speech and make it look decent. Not just the 3 that were shown at the end of that episode. Good job

  • I don't know which orchestra, but this is "The Enterprise" theme from the motion picture

  • It is "The Enterprise" from "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" in a recording by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and conductor Jerry Goldsmith from a CD called "Frontiers". Thanks for uploading.

  • @techie41789 You forgot NCC-1701-J. It was shown in an episode of Enterprise. Nice video though!

  • Which movie(s) did the sound track for this post come from...or more to the point, which orchestra is playing them???

  • not enough of the original and refit 1701 in my opinion

  • Those two are my favorites to... but I had to be fair to all the Enterprises

  • yeah but you didn't treat the refit Enterprise and Enterprise A as seperate ships There's almost no footage of the original refit or even the TOS version. Like your not seperating them as ships, but by the Captains that commanded them. And get that Defiant clip out of there. Use the remastered version of TOS. nah man its good, I'm just whining

  • God bless the Big E.

  • Beautiful job there! It was very nice to include all present Star Trek ships as well as the two carriers and the space shuttle.

  • hi great vid, just to let you know, and you picked a gd theme music too. think, it would of been could to get some sayings about the enterprise that capt picard did at the start, as some sort of back ground, to go with the music.

  • this was awesome, great job
