The term punk came from a magizine that was started in 1975 by Leggs McNeil, Ged Dunn, and John Holstrom. It was about music, clubs, fashion, the people/fans, etc.. Listening to one type of music doesn't make you a punk. Living the lifestyle does. Also Greenday is Pop punk. Sad but true. They might as well not have exsisted to most "punks" after their album "Dookie". The Misfits have been around since '77, how can you even compare them to Greenday? Greenday = Dribble!
