@gh2player Nope, he was talking about the good ol 1-2-1-2 thrash drumming. Bass, snare, bass, snare etc... in 8th notes. In my band we used to call it either the monkey, or boom-chuk and we used it a lot, haha.
I havent seen this yet but it seems like they only talked about the US Thrash bands...Fuck this, German, Canadian, And Australian Thrash was just as part as the bands in the US.
@disturbedspike no, they also talk about foreign scenes like the german thrash scene, about swiss bands, sepultura and even australian and canadian thrash bands.
the revival of thrash can be done. it had a way of drawing me to it since i was 9. people should abandon this nu metal crap, its giving metal a bad name. the more people hear thrash the better.
I'd have to say Sodom's In The Sign of Evil and Obsessed By Cruelty with Destruction's Infernal Overkill, Mad Butcher, etc., inspired more black metal while Kreator went more for death metal with Pleasure to Kill, although Endless Pain had ALOT of black metal elements.
my band is part of the nwotm and were trying to bring the old way back and destroy fucking metalcore emo/ screamo bandsas thrash destroyed glam 25 years ago
@omgnomorebacon I agree, to an extent. "Hardcore" music has to go haha. no more bring me the horizon crap. New thrash bands (Municipal Waste, Lazarus A.D., Evile..) that stuff is pretty sick haha!
@omgnomorebacon Having bands that all sound the same would be boring as fuck. There is a reason why Old skool thrash metal bands are underground. Because they never bring anything new or original to the table.
Nothing wrong with liking old school but jeez some people should really open their closeminded heads abit...
he is fucking riiight! even tho he has a problem explainin idgaf punks dead, every other type of music had a follow but died, but not metal, metal is immortal, deathrash til death!!
actually black sabbath did play the blues, in the early years when iommy and ward were in mythology in the late 60's and so did butler and osbourne while playing together in they'r band (don't remember the name)try listen to warning (it's a cover song) its on the same album as wicked world, but yeah you are right they also played alot of jazz in the early days.
bill ward was mainly inspired by jazz musicians and so was tony. sabbath was a jazz/blues band in the early days and were inspired by bands like cream and stuff. but when that acident with tony happened their sound got more heavy, thank god
yeah but bill and tony were in a band called mythology before they got together with ozzy and geezer and they had been playing in a band called rare breed before they got together with tony and bill
Ahh... scheisse! I respect these guys a lot! I remember my cousing in Dublin, playing that one album, when I was small! Of course I couldn't know which one it was.
Their English isn't that great, but Tom Angelripper put some excellent notes together for their DVD package, the first of more mentioned to come. I feel they have a very good point here, but one genre can be limiting, which is why I prefer METAL in general, not genre
