I bought my black macbook in late 2006, It has run trouble free every day since then, with only an upgrade to 2 gig of RAM. This week I upgraded to a MBP Unibody, and I love it, but the black macbook was my first mac, and I think it's still the coolest bit of gear ever made (aside from the limited stealth unibody MBP of which only 10 were made)

no actually :) had my white one since christmas 07. I love it. Now running 500gb hd with 4gb ram. My girlfriend has the unibody one and i hate it. Dont like the cold metal, dont like the black buttons and screen. The track pad is all jumpy. No firewire (which has been fixed now) but i still prefer the plastic ones. black especially.

i just got a white macbook a few weeks ago it cost me around 1300 but thats because i got the applecare protection plan which is about 200 (its a good thing to get though) if you wanna get the system it will be around 1080 i think

Yeah it is. I got my black MacBook about 4 months ago and I love it!. It's 2.4, 250 Harddrive, 4 GB ram. Ohh and OS X Leopard. There are some site that still have the black MacBook for sale, if you still want one, not sure if this helped but if you wanna know more, just message me ore something

There's a pretty solid rumor going round that new macbooks are coming out october 14th made of aluminim. The iffy bits are the glass touchpad with gestures + backlit keyboard

But i'll be getting one hopefully if the rumor is true

I have a black one too (2.2 ghz 2gb ram) and i bought it a month before the upgrade... pissed me off... On the bright side however, the macbook has been one of the best computers (portable or not) that i have ever used and i am not going back to windows (not until they release something revolutionary).

I am just a tad bit worried about it crapping out on me because i saw videos on macbook defects that happen for no apparent reason..
