I think joaniephonie is jealous! those who bitch at someone often want to be like them or are like they accuse the other of being. Baez has been very consistent in her views since I have known about her - back to the 60's. What she does off stage could be interesting but what she does in public is what counts as far as I'm concerned

I've worked with Joan, The Dixie Chicks and Babs. They are moronic nit-wits. I'm not following a party line, either. I'm honestly telling you that behind the scenes, when the mic is off and the spotlight dimmed...they treat people like dirt, demand attention, are absolutely unreasonable and act like they are the only people on the planet that actually NEED something. A far cry from whining about feeding starving children and lambasting wasteful spending. They are all guilty of the above.

This will be one of the most important American Masters ever! Joan Baez IS Americana at its best ... regardless of what one thinks of her politics, she has been a constant AND she has been consistent. Her role in history is remarkable ... and it is continual! There will never be a singing voice that can equal hers in purity and in the ability to 'sing a story.' Thank you so much for presenting this documentary!

I have been a fan of Joan right from the begining of her career,for different reasons throughout my life i have never been able to see her perform live.Last wednesday night oct 1st 2009 i got the chance at last!went to see her in concert here in Birmingham uk,she was everything i expected and more,it was well worth the waiting all these years.

Heres to you Joan,long may you live to bring joy to all who appreciate your gift of singing from your heart with feelings that are true.

Had a BIG poster of her in my army barracks In NJ during the Viet Nam time. 1968 When I would send an audio cassette home to folks and family, and they heard Joan in the back ground, they knew I was melancholy Well ! What do you expect. I had just got a Dear John from a 5 year long relationship !!.. Thanks Joanie. For easing the pain.
