Game developers should go against the "system" but t hey find it hard to find or get funding for "questionable" ideas? How obvious. lest see a game completely expose and talk about the banking syndicate and why they are evil...this game would probably be pulled form the shelves, or not. I don't think the bankers care anymore...they are to far exposed al ready.

Lorne could've finished the rest of the Quintology long ago but the current market would FORCE him to give up all creative control to big name companies who don't care about Oddworld. They would ruin the franchise by exploiting it with pop stars, big muscled space marines and anything else with teen-appeal.

Lorne works everyday trying to get his projects of the ground but game investors are too busy milking money off brands like CoD or GTA.

Stop buying immature games if you want more Oddworld.

For example..Can you just imagine Activision taking over the rights of the oddworld franchise? I mean, Activision wouldnt do that in the first place anyway, bobby kotick is too busy pleasing his shareholders/investors and exploting/milking COD and X Hero games every 1/2 year whilst overpricing them. The sad thing is no matter how hard anyone tries to boycott, the mass market buys the games based on the name alone like hotcakes...just..sad.

I agree. I'll never understand why he had such an amazing series going then just decided to "make films." The oddworld series is incomplete because the games that came after Abe's Exodus don't count in my opinion. They bastardized the series.

By the way, Oddword Inhabitants originally said that they DON'T want a shoot 'em up game, but look at Stranger's Wrath. It's just the typical shoot 'em up game nowadays.

I love his mind. You know how rare it is that you find game programmers that make games based on today's politics and civilization, using a lot of symoblism? You know how hard it is to pull that off and make a GREAT game at the same time? Lorne Lanning is a great guy...I'm annoyed at the fact that Oddworld is dead and gone...but since his mind is still active, I can only hope for the best (which is not dissapointment.).

first, there is no official oddworld inhabitants forum. there are fan forums. i haven't seen that date in any of them. can you link to where you found it? the last update i've gotten was that since the 2006 release was a bust, they were hoping for late 2009, but more likely well into 2010.

What says M.Lanning is very interesting. I think there is a danger in videogames' and 3D movies' creativity. Projects are bigger, need more money to be done well so people who give money prefers to bet on a "safe" project, which will be conventional and, for most of the time, less creative than other.

There are 3 names in the "Great games" list. Lorne Lanning, Amy Hennig, and David Cage.
