  • Welcome to San Luis Potosi Mex

  • HEADBANGERS BALL RULED!!!! Sounds like Sam Kinison a bit!!

  • The the fact that this song is still applicable to society is really sad. Shows you how much society has changed since 1988.

  • @akatsuki415 : you couldn't be more right, my friend. For another parallel I'm sure you've noticed is that Megadeth "Holy Wars/Punishment due' came out during the gulf war. But is still relevant during 911 or even now- my man is in Afghanistan. As horrible as it is that things haven't changed, I'm grateful that Metal can still comfort us. It is indeed timeless thru good and bad. Blessings to you!

  • This is when Mtv was cool.

  • This song describes the diet coke drinkin', American Idol watchin', Prozac poppin', masses here in the USA perfectly!

  • @DarkEcstasyWorld some people actually Prozac for disorders but yeah, most people do abuse them....

  • Yeah... I definitely liked this better back in 1988 or whenever it was.

  • I love this music. I understand this lyrics.

  • Can you imagine this being played on MTV nowadays? ...yeah me neither

  • 32 are Brainwashed....

  • @ThrashDave 36 now..

  • This video was my discovery of Nuclear Assault, I've always been a die hard Big 4 fan, and one day i was checking out other thrash bands of the 80's and i came across them...watched this vid. and thought "whoa, that was an assault of pure thrash, I FUCKING LOVE IT" These guys have a point, they're not singing about California Gurlz, or being depressed, or seeing how twacked out on drugs they can be, fuck all that shit! This was a time when music had depth and purpose!

  • My argument is that a variety is important to keep the scene fresh and becoming boring. Slipknot had they're own sound so what if they we're an amalgamation of different styles. So was White Zombie, I started listening to White Zombie, and Fear Factory because after 10 years of Thrash and Death Metal diet I needed something fresh. I have Morbid Angel, Obituary, Napalm Death, Entombed, Carcass, Death, and Possessed etc. in my collection but i'm still open to different styles (continued)

  • 0:07 i sit the same way when im in the subway

  • He sounds like Sam Kinison on this song....fucking awesome ;)

  • "Television the idiot tube" damn right!

  • The late 80's was a great time for the thrash crossover scene.....Nuclear Assault, Vio-Lence, Forbidden, Exodus, D.R.I., Voivod, Kreator, Coroner, Death Angel, Testament, Anthrax, Slayer, Destruction, etc....

  • @jerryskid1 the only bands that can be considered crossover thrash from that list are Nuclear Assault and DRI.

  • @jerryskid1 nice band list. I was thinking they sound a little like OVERKILL.

  • @jerryskid1 nice band list. I was thinking they sound a little like OVERKILL.

  • i brainwashed my little sister's mind to nothing but thrash metal!!

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh thashhhhhhhhhh

  • Holy FUCK, thrashin the old school way! Long live 90's thrash!!!!! Nu Metal posers haven't a clue!

  • Golden oldie!!

  • SO THIS IS WHAT A NUCLEAR ASSAULT WOULD SOUND LIKE.....THRASH!!

  • MTV pretty much destroyed music.

    Bands pre-MTV:

Whitesnake ,Judas priest,Led zeppelin,Deep purple etc.

    Bands MTV:

Nirvana ,Alice in chains, Hansons, Backstreet boys ,Boyzone list goes on.

    They all suck.

And then we have those stupid bitches like rihanna and beyonce.

Or nelly , puff daddy or whatever .

WHERE`S THE OLD SCHOOL METAL ?

  • @MetalThrashingMad87 agree with most of what you say, but alice in chains?? they're fucking awesome

  • This is the time when MTV wasn't hip hop/gay TV channel.

  • reminds me of a much more extreme anthrax.

  • @rushpython100 Dan Lilker played bass in Anthrax in "fistful of metal". Also, Danny Lilker is one of the best metal/hardcore guys ever.

  • Still unbeliveable that MTV played such cool clips in the 80ies and 90ies!

  • all the 80"s metal was about expresing ur self and standing up for what u believe. not bowing down to the lame ass kenny g shit and all the bee bop rap shit that came out then...we were an agressive generation and all thoes who felt frightened were scared of us ...so fuck them back then and still metal will never b the same but we may b older but were still here teachin our kids...up the irons..mvt

  • it kills me that on EVERY metal or heavy song i look up on youtube people are arguing and fighting about politics, music, their screen names.....anything they can think of to be asses to each other........and cant recognize that --hey we all have the good taste to at least like this one awesome song enough to take the time to look it up-------and we ARENT the same person and MIGHT JUST have different tastes and opinions........im just sayin.........

  • @markosborne1969

you forgot Justin Bieber, if it wasnt for the comments below metal videos I never would've know about his existence, its sad

  • @Spike01101

    Fuck you decrepit asshole.

  • @Eurounyous thanks you too

  • yes this is thrash metal a kick in the ass who thinks slipknot is thrash Long live the true thrash

  • @jeisonthrash who the fuck thinks slipknot is thrash?

  • @aswesee There's a crossover band named slipknot from the 80's

  • @jeisonthrash Wait what? there's people who think Slipknot is thrash? and I thought people who thought Slipknot is metal were stupid!!! damn!

  • @MoonOvIce Believe it! And worse, they told me that the bass player of slipknot deceased, was better than Ronnie James Dio. WTF o.O ¬¬ Where? When?

  • @jeisonthrash Ignorant fucktards!! they need some metal education...and common sense too!!! I mean, c'mon!

  • @MoonOvIce Slipknot is metal....just not the metal you like....there's a difference. The great thing about metal is the variety of styles, so people can still like metal even if they don't like all the genres associated with metal. I've been a metalhead for 30 year and I've listened to more bands then most people ever will. Just because someone doesn't like one genre of metal doesn't make it any less metal. Slipknot is not Thrash but they were influenced by Thrash and other styles.

  • @gregsvoice666 I agree!!! slipknot is a great band!

  • @gregsvoice666

Shitnot is a Mallcore marketing package presented for the entertainment of teenagers who are pissed because their parents took their Playstation away. You must not be much of a metal head if you're on a pure fucking thrash video defending shitnot.

  • @Danger555 I am more metal than you will ever be. I had Slayer's haunting the Chapel, Celtic Frost's Morbid Tales, Voivod's War and Pain, and Venom's Black metal on cassette before I had even heard the term Thrash Metal. I've been listening to metal since I first heard Judas Priest's Screaming for Vengence in '82. But unlike you I'm not some close minded, ignorant, elitist asshole. I grew up in a time when bands sung about uniting the scenes to make metal/hardcore stronger, (continued)

  • @Danger555 We used to share cassettes to turn people on to new bands, but the new generation of metalheads all they do is shit on everyone elses taste and talk about how only the bands they like are real metal. I like originality. I pick the best bands of each genre and that's what I listen to. Everything from Doom Metal, Death Metal, Grindcore, Crossover, Hardcore, Punk, Thrash Metal, Traditional Metal, Opera Metal, Black Metal. I'd rather see a kid in a Slipknot t-shirt than a Eminem T-shirt.

  • @gregsvoice666

    "I'd rather see a kid in a Slipknot t-shirt than a Eminem T-shirt."

I'm not sure I see the difference. Let me explain: Each "artist" is a prepackaged, palatable, easily accessible product proffered to the masses. Rap is not actually music, so I'll ignore it for this comparison. Slipknot was created to mimic the sound of established metal genres, but to have elements radio friendly enough to attract a large audience. Let me ask the question in a different way: (continued)

  • @gregsvoice666

Would you rather see a kid in an oldschool Malevolent Creation shirt, a la Retribution, or a kid in a Slipknot shirt? I was faced with similar choices, and in my yearning for metal bliss, combined with a knowledge of music, I chose Death Metal (DM) over nu metal because of the mastery possessed by the DM musicians. No, you can't buy old Gorguts CDs in the mall, but you can buy Slipknot CDs without effort. I prefer the refinement and search, not the easy "given" choices.

  • @Danger555 listening to your opinion you still come off as an elitist, and by your arguement just because something is found in a mall it's less worthy of the title metal, most bands become popular because they're the best of their genre, the cream rises to the top. And I can't tell you I've ever heard Slipknot being played on my local radio station. I can walk into the mall and get Sepultura, Slayer, Anthrax, Arch Enemy, Agnostic Front, Sick Of It All, Motorhead so are they less metal?

  • @gregsvoice666 okay SOIA and Agnostic Front are Hardcore, but you're arguement is that the more underground a band is and the less people who like them the better they are. I love underground music, but a lot of it is generic and they just mimic the sound of the bands that predated them. Danny Lilker, Kerry King, and Anthrax all like Slipknot. Slipknot also took Obituary out on a arena tour with them because they were fans of Obituary. Who else has done that?

  • @gregsvoice666

I can see your point of keeping the genre "fresh," but at which point do you abandon or betray the genre at the expense of innovation? Established metal genres, Thrash, Death, Black, etc. have roots for several decades. Whether or not the sound has been driven into banality isn't germane to the topic at hand. Would you consider metal mixed with Eminem "fresh and new?" I feel we must be cautious and resistant to attempts at bastardizing metal. When Slipknot comes along and

  • @Danger555 Nailbomb, Demonoid, and SOD. I really avoid side projects because they are so far removed from my taste in music that I usually don't like them. There are enough guys in Slipknot what are big metalheads that if there are a couple who aren't ...well big deal, because that's true with a lot of metal bands. Also teen angst is a part of metal. Metal exist as an outlet for anger. Sure musicianship is a part of it, but it's really an outlet for those who needed it. Try growing up

  • @gregsvoice666 in a small rural area and going to a school where you're the only metalhead. I did and I had to spend my teenage years justifying the music I loved to closeminded people who asked me when I was going to commit suicide, called a satanist. So I had teen angst in spades. I was in a really dark place in my life when that first Slipknot album came out, and it was great having an album that was as angry as I was at that time.

  • @gregsvoice666

Gregsvoice, I'm going to have to respectfully dissent and bow out. For the record, I no longer consider Metallica, Sepultura, Slayer, etc. metal bands, due to their blatant selling out. I'm sure you disagree, but I think we've come to an impasse and difference of opinion on a genre of music that we both obviously respect and retain a good working knowledge of. I'd like to thank you for a respectful (especially on your part) and very well defended debate, instead of (continued)

  • @gregsvoice666

a pointless flame war that is soooo prevalent on Youtube. Dude, enjoy the metal you listen to, and I'm about to listen to some Melodic Hard Rock, another genre of music I love. If you ever care to check out that genre, check out the band Harem Scarem's song "Stranger Than Love" for a great example. But, above all, stay metal, friend. I'll be sure to work in some oldschool Obituary to the playlist tonight!

  • @gregsvoice666

creates this teetering example of metal, with an OBVIOUS emphasis of relating to teenagers, have not we lost some of the more complex rebelliousness and non conformity of metal in general? I believe that Slipknot is more driven by record companies than the actual members. Look at the several pathetic, shitty bands Slipknot's vocalist is in. He hasn't been a lifelong metal head, and thus lacks the dedication to be considered as such. How many alt. rock bands has King Diamond

  • @Danger555 that's why they do side projects so that they can play a different style of music that they can't in their main bands. Jason quit Metallica because James wouldn't let him persue his funk side project. Andreas Kisser's Hubris, Alex Scholnick Trio, Rob Cavestany, Eric Wanger's Lid and many more are all side projects that are not metal. I had the Control Denied album but I sold it because I didn't like the vocals. The only side projects I've ever heard that I liked are (continued)

  • @gregsvoice666

been a member of? Chuck Shuldiner's side project, Control Denied, is an example of creativity within the respected confines of metal. Same could be said for the bands Between the Buried and me and Arch Enemy! Leave out the teen angst, music label marketing, easily identifiable ideas and lyrics. Look at your average Slipknot fan. Has he ever even heard of Demolition Hammer? The average Slipknot fan will not seek out music, but wait for the record comp. to tell him what to buy

  • @Danger555 I think you have an over idealistic view of metal. The reality is there are a lot of musicians in metal who don't listen to metal. Half of Megadeth's line ups where filled with musicians who weren't into metal. Eric Wagner of Trouble doesn't listen to metal, when Joey joined Anthrax he didn't listen to metal. But it's these people who are not really into metal who bring outside influences in that make a band better. Most musicians listen to other music besides metal to and (continued)

  • @jeisonthrash now you say that, there was a thrash band with the name Slipknot.. who knows what the fuck happened or if they are related to the nu metal shit
