  • Rock Bottom !

  • i really want this head to go with my crate cab. it would sound monstrous. i loved the cob riffs.

  • @bodomguitar91 Do pedal's work well when put through the clean channel (including Wah and Distortion pedals)?

  • woohooo MAIDEN!!!

  • toon the gittarr

  • Clean tone was ok... Gain tone did pretty good. Those who say its muddy obviously havent taken into account its recorded and what not. Ive seen you in marshall amp forums;)

  • sounds like shit! you played well its just thin or cheese, the pedal helped but then went thin as well lol

i think my mg100 sounds so much better

  • @musiclovr2 LOL @ someone thinking a mg marshall is worth or sound any better then a JCM

  • @BrockDavisson1978

im not just anyone, and yea it does sound better, if you cant tell the difference your tone def, sorry

    someone promotes , somthi

  • @musiclovr2

just because someone promotes something ,its supposed to be better?, thats the game of marketing, if something sounds better it sounds better, case closed, use your head for something other than a hat rack, "you know"

  • @musiclovr2 I'm far from tone deaf.. especially since I've been playing guitar 20 years, and won 3 guitar competitions and 2nd place in 2 others, all in the past 5 years. I can tell you and I'm sure a lot of people can that the MG series is a crappy line and low price line for idiots that can't tell the difference between a amp's tone!

  • @BrockDavisson1978

just because you played for a long time doesnt mean shit, and im no idiot, waist all your money , you cant buy talent, or a "EAR" everyone knows it, next youll tell us death metal is music 2 huh, lol, crap is crap, and theres a hell of a lot of it i n music these days, mg are good sounding amps

  • @musiclovr2 You're a dumb ass. Death Metal is a type of music. Maybe you need to look up the definition of "music" Lol. Obviously you don't have the "EAR" if you think a MG Marshall is better then a JCM Marshall. Also, it does mean shit when someone has played for a long time...means they've been around longer, listened longer, knows more etc.. etc... list goes on. I'm not saying I'm better or more talented then you or anyone... but seriously, you need to get over thinking your MG is "God".

  • @BrockDavisson1978

WELL I WAS BEING NICE BUT THERE IS NO NICE WITH YOU FUCKING RETARDS, YOU R A NO IT ALL FUCKING IDIOT, AND NOW EVERYONE CAN SEE IT

GOD IS GOD- GOD WILL WIPE HIS ASS WITH MUSIC, AND PEOPLE LIKE YOU

I KNOW A "TON OF BEEN AROUND A LONNNNG TIME "FUCKING IDIOTS, THERE IDIOTS FOR A REASON!, HAVE A NICE DAY :)

  • @musiclovr2 OH NO SERIOUS BUSINESS. CAPS AND ALL LOL! AND LOL @ SAYING YOU WERE BEING NICE. WHERE IN ANY OF YOUR STATEMENTS WAS YOU BEING NICE? LOL. AND I'M NOT A "KNOW IT ALL" BUT I DO KNOW DECENT TONE WHEN I HEAR IT, AND GUESS WHAT IT'S NOT THE MG LINE BY MARSHALL :) GOODBYE.

  • H'mm,, It sounds muddy big time. Also where's the treble? It must be a poor mic?

  • first song?

  • Iron Maiden at 1:30

  • Children of bodom use this amp for blooddrunk album? or a jcm 800 kerry king?

  • Not a bad Revelations cover ;D

  • Hey man, what cab are you running through?

  • out of tune but amazing amp.

  • i have a request but will you do it?solo with the neck pickup on the ultra gain settings do sweet child o mine?

  • Anyone thinking of doing a demo for an amp, use this as a template, everything we needed to know, I'm stuck between a peavey or a Marshall

  • @MrDeamon1 Which Peavey? And is it this Marshall? I own two 5150s if that's what you're going after. I run one through a 5150 cab and the other through just a generic 4x12. Like I said, if that's what you're going after, I could give you my opinion.

  • thanks, I just bought one for $570 shipped (if it gets here in one piece lol)... this video makes me have no regrets :) awesome!

  • @smashedg Awesome deal man, Hopefully you love this amp :) , glad this could help :D

  • @bodomguitar91 thanks! mine came in friday and it is quite awesome!!! really clean, all the knobs and channels work etc... I have a recycled sound attenuator and i'm surprised how good this thing sounds at bedroom levels! even without the attenuator it blows away many amps at low volume. it really seems to be a nice match for my 2 x 12 cab... just my humble opinion.

  • @smashedg this is the best marshall I have ever played!! gonna get one also

  • Does the dsl marshall have more gain than the tsl marshall? I want a more hardrock tone and not sure which amp to get :)

  • Up the Irons!!! Great amp, great playing :D

  • nice playing! IMHO, the amp is the typical Marshall sound, sounds like it has lack of definition/tighthness, i'd even say one could probably get close to it using a Metalzone pedal, but it could also be the pickups aren't that good...

  • I can't decide between this and a 3 channel dual rectifier

  • @thrashattack312 trust me, the Dual Rectifier sounds much fuller and has a destructive low end. the cabinet (4x12 with v30 standard rectifier) is the best cabinet I've ever played. when I bought my 6505, I tried to play this head with a Marshall 1960 4x12 with v30 and played decently. when I tried to play my 6505, connected with a rectifier 4x12 standard, the sound was much more defined and play the palm muted with a powerful and full sound is so beautiful.

  • @grazianism thanks for helping me decide

  • This amp reminds me of the Peavey 6534+. Do you know the main differences because I play punk, hardcore, and some metal

  • I had the same amp and sounded cool, though it blew up twice. After only five years the front transformer blew and took out the rear and all the valves $750 to repair. 18 months later it shit again, I fixed it and sold it. The repair bloke said he sees heaps of them. POS

    btw nice playing

  • CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME? WHY DOES MY DSL 50 SOUND SO MUDDY DIGITAL ON THE LEAD CHANNELS ?!?! IT SOUNDS TERRIBLE PLEASE HEALP ME GUYS!

  • wich microphone is used to record this demo? sounds great.

  • @grazianism shure sm57

  • Does anyone know where i can buy Marshall 1960 Bv cabs

  • @triggerHappyHappy thanks :D I used an Edwards eal128 sawtooth :)

  • i liked the sweeps near the end with the canon rock. do you have a tab for those?

  • MUST CLICK DELIVERY!!!!

  • i thin this cld sound lot more fuller and ballsy if u move ur mic inches back away from the cab...also...sounds to me that u were playin wif quite a low volume?

  • @xuan8839 well the mic was about 1.5 inches from the cab on the left side of the cone, but yes it was at a lower volume, i have neighbours and it was at about 3-4 ish on volume, which is about the level that most ppl could get away with at home, but youtubes audio compression does make it sound a little weaker than normal :S

  • @bodomguitar91 agreed, man it sounds like some 8" or 112 cab to me in fact....however this does remind me some tone from unearthed..still, nice gear man.

  • What do you think of the 1960 vintage a?

  • @bodomguitar91 thanks man,

I do have an ibanez ts9, and a couple of over od pedals.

  • I play mostly metal: all that remains, august burns red, bullet for my valentine,

    Slipknot.

Do you think this amp suits that style of play?

Also, what cab are you using in this video?

  • @raizhell2795 yes, it should be able to handle it, u will probably want to front end the amp with an OD or distortion or something, but if u want the good low end sound etc u will need to have a good cab with it :) , in the vid im using the marshall 1960 Vintage A

  • @raizhell2795 i play almost same bands and when i heard the ultra gain 2 i will think it has enough gain but for solo's i think you need a od pedal, like a ibanez ts9 or something to shred (:

  • @raizhell2795 if you play that kind of stuff youd probably want to go with a peavey 6505 cuz thats what bfmv uses and a lot of other heavier bands. And for a cab I think a mesa with celestion v30s sounds best to my ears but its up to you. Im not a fan of peavey cabs they kinda mudd up the sound to me but you just gotta mess around and do some research.

  • Hi can anyone please tell if you can play with just the head or do you need the cab

  • @projectmasta Hi, you need a cab. it wont work without one :)

  • What is he playing at 3:35?

  • @dakotamanomgwtf It is a children of bodom riff from the song 'hellhounds on my trail' :D

  • @bodomguitar91 Thanks man! Good vid BTW.

  • @dakotamanomgwtf no worries bro, and thanks for watching ! :D

  • @bodomguitar91 Yeah for sure.

  • what peddals do you use in this vid?

  • @JoshGoldie i only used one pedal in this video and that was for the solos at the end, it was just a stock ibanez ts9DX

  • Loved the solo at the end. This amp has moved to my #1 priority list over the TSL and L6 Spider Valve. Any chance you can divulge what techhnique you used on the arpeggios at the end? :D

  • @dinoman89 ahah thanks man, yeah this amp is definetly kool. the end arpeggios were just 5 string sweep picking, nothing too complex, only using standard major and minor shapes to do in the style of canon :D

  • @bodomguitar91 Like the "C shape" arpeggios just played quickly and REALLY cleanly? I play the same arpeggios if that's the case. 5th string roots on frets 15, 12, 14, 9, 10, 5, 10, and 12?

  • @bodomguitar91 Like, arpeggios with the added 3rd tap in the middle? I'm gonna give it a shot! Wish me luck!

  • I heard The Canon in the intro and thought "I know that song!!" Actually, it's one of my favorite songs to play :D

  • what kind of distortion/gain pedal do you use? any you can recommend to me?

  • @fallingawaketv ibanez ts9, or 808 :D

  • so does this amp sound good on the high gain channels?

  • @fallingawaketv well i think it does, but to get the bets out of it, its good to boost it with a pedal

  • hey man what pedals are you using, or does this amp come with its own pedal?

  • @fallingawaketv for this demo no pedals were used besides for a ibanez ts9dx at the end for solo stuff, this amp doesnt come with any pedals but it does come with a footswitch :D

  • i just bought this amp yesterday (dsl 50) though, would anyone say there is a big differance in tone ?

  • @JoshGoldie i have played both, really there is not much difference, if anything the 50 watt will be better at lower volumes cause u can push the tubes more, but they r pretty much identicle

  • @bodomguitar91 thanks for being one of the few who reply :) thanks for the assurance rock on \m/

  • @JoshGoldie After researching the heck out of the DSL 100 because I'm going to pick up a used one. On the Marshall forums and in other reviews they say that the DSL 50 is a little brighter than the DSL 100 and the difference in volume between 50 watts and 100 watts is I think only 3db. Get an attentuator so you can push the tubes at high volume on your amp and then lower the volume on the attentuator so you maintain the driven tube tone at lower volumes.

  • @88mpny thanks alot man :) i got a dsl 50 for xmas and love it :D whats a attentuator? thanks for replying mate.

  • STRICKEN!!!!!!

  • @JoshGoldie oh yeah :D

  • What? No Scooped Mids?

  • @KissMeImPunk yeah, sorry about that, i really should have done that but i can't stand playing with mids scooped, but perhaps ill make a vid just to make the review complete :D

  • @bodomguitar91 Why do people hate scooped so much? I know it's not exactly known for its..clarity, but it sounds thrashy as fuck. I want scooped mids (preferably on an amp that ISN'T A LINE 6!)

  • @KissMeImPunk well for me i don't like scooped mids for practicality's sake, because playing live and in the studio without mids... u'll never get heard in mix. the guitar is a mid-ranged instrument and needs mids atleast mids on 5 imho :D

  • @bodomguitar91 Dark Angel's done it, and they're one of the greatest thrash bands.

  • @KissMeImPunk oh its definetly been done, dime also did it, but its up to personal preference so if u like it then go for it! :D

  • @bodomguitar91 Like I said..Line 6..can't really work on a Transistor Amp. I jsut wanna see how the JCM 2000 does with high gain + scooped mids

  • @KissMeImPunk true, ill try and get a vid of that up asap, im sure the it'll sound good, this is a pretty sweet amp :D

  • @bodomguitar91 You're gonna have to really convince me, those ENGL Fireball 100Ws sound really good with those 6l6 tubes.

  • @KissMeImPunk haah i cant tell u what is better but for the price of a fireball id imagine it would sound better? never have heard one b4

  • @bodomguitar91 How much is the JCM 2000?

  • @KissMeImPunk i got mine for 1300 AUD brand new :D

  • @bodomguitar91 ..Is that alot more un USD?

  • @KissMeImPunk no its a little less, 0.97 AUD = 1 USD

  • @bodomguitar91 Don't you mean a little more?

  • @KissMeImPunk i meant the AUD is a little less than the US , 0.97<1 :D

  • are the classic gain and ultra gain switchable by foot switch or do u have to walk to the amp and switch it urself

  • @masteroggame3 No, unfortunatly the footswitch that came with this amp only changes channel from clean to Gain, which is pretty crappy :( so to change between classic and ultra/ clean and crunch you need to physically press the button

  • how'd you get your lead 2 to sound so nice? i can't seem to get anything other than a muddy mess out of that channel :(

  • @AraGuitarfor the lead 2, i have the settings as follows: presence 0 , treble 2, mids 8, bass-2 , no reverb , no mid shift or bass boost, i find that its always best to boost the chanel with some sort of OD to get the best sound :D

  • @bodomguitar91 definitely some interesting settings, I'll try them out

  • @AraGuitar yeah , i dont c many ppl, run it liek i do, but i dig the sound and it seems to work ATM :D

  • Rock Bottom, yeah! 0:51

  • @doctornerve hehe yep , i love that song,:D

  • @bodomguitar91 Did you see the Big Four concert movie? Kirk breaks into Rock Bottom for a moment during his solo spot. Lights me up!

  • @doctornerve Nah i havent seen it but that sounds awesome, i'm gonna have to check it out :D

  • Awesome man, If this is bad...Then I wish that I sucked at guitar :P

  • @JakeGuitarPlayer666 ahah cheers bro :D

  • \m/\m/ !!!

  • @Amonamarth1111 well said \m/\m/ :D

  • is this you playing

  • @deathonics lol yes of-course it is :D can't you tell from my terrible playing? :D

  • @bodomguitar91

Terrible playing?! Dude, you are an amazing guitarist! lol

Nice job playing Stricken, Needled 24/7, Blooddrunk, Hellhounds On My Trail, and so forth! ;)

  • @doompod haha thanks man :D that means a lot to me \m/\m/

  • @bodomguitar91 how is that terrible i asked cuz i thought you took it of the marshal website

  • @deathonics no worries man, :D
