  • Roosevelt's policies made the Great Depression last longer.

Notice how people helped each other? This works much better than welfare.

  • ahah that's completely un-related

  • Can you imagine how the entitlement crowd will respond to a depression today? They have been taught that society owes them something, so what if society doesn't have anything? We are ill prepared for a depression today.

  • I agree completely.

This is going to be a HORRIBLE mess.

  • I agree. Very ill prepared. My father( older than most parents) lived through it to tell about it, and we lived as if it could happen any day. One thing he always taught us, if you can't buy it with money, you can't afford it.

  • yeh, me too FONNA....my dad always told me stories about the great depression. To make it worse his father died from the big "flu pandemic of 1918". His family was already dirt poor before the depression even hit. My whole life I lived the way my dad taught me....don't live above your means, save your money, most things buy cash, If you don't need it, dont buy it. Dad lived WAY below his means....when he died he had a paid off house and $500,000 "cash"

  • Wow!

I believe it. We used to have a basement. I swear, I could have opened up a little bodega. Not one piece of food wasted.

The only thing we would spend $ on more than usual were shoes. You can have floodwater jeans as long as they weren't worn out, but.....

    gotta have good shoes!

    XD!

  • Thats cool man. He became well off after all!!

  • @oilhammer04 I think anyone on that depends on welfare may resort to murder for the simple reason that its less effort than farming, barter, etc.
