I think you're right on the cusp. Great review in the NY times. Your basic delivery style reminds me of Stephen Wright, a low key delivery with material that's so incongruous it's funny. He is my favorite intelligent comedian. He would joke, "Do infants enjoy infancy as much as adults enjoy adultery?" But Wright had more of a one liner approach, where you are using jokes that are more lenghty, complex and thought out. I'll look out for your standup on Letterman.
