@vinylvend lonely an blue has been cosidered one of,if not the most sonically perfect LP's ever produced.the US was way out front during this time frame(germany was also considered superior in electronics).the mono sounds great on this but the stereo version really brings home the excellent vocals and the back-up vocals.Blue Angel is absolutely unbelievable!
Alto sax, strings and I think I hear a celesta every now and then... and of coarse Roy's voice.
Imagine my delight going thru a forgotten box of records and finding this jewel....It just had to be shared...and right now. I'm so please that you like it.
Did I see Joe Melson!! Oh yes, this is very very nice!! Listen to the strings and that alto sax...oh my goodness!!! My dad played the alto sax in a band for many yrs! **sniff**
This is amazing to hear Roy Orbison in clean, wide stereo on a vintage 45 record!!...Friends, Lloyd.

The Japanese were so far ahead on technology, and the appreciation of good music. This should have easily been a US 45!

I just said the same thing about the Japanese on you're "Lana" comment. I do agree.

I saw that! I don't know, but it just seems they had the high quality sound when we were still making crappy MONO
45's here. Some mono is great, but good old fashioned hi-fi stereo can't be beat!
