  • wow thats Soviet power !

  • Look at that hook grip, I bet its painful

  • Comment removed

  • @nk29382 What's that in kilos? Weightlifting is in Kilos.

  • @nk29382 would have loved.* Doubt he'll be lifting past 2012. It was a great effort.

  • my HERO!

  • "will you give that?" is the commentator serious? that's a perfect executed snatch.

  • god..if there was a 110 or 115 weight class..he'd dominate that easily.

  • he can hold the snatch world record if he focuses on it, but he's trying to clean & jerk with the heavy boys, & hes consistent so his combined total will keep him in gold medal contendtion. but hes russian so hes stupid

  • absolutely monstrous!

  • he only lifted 210kg whos posting this?

  • god what a strain

  • Hah... even the commentators were cheering for him, awesome lifter.

  • That was One Hundred Percent. He didn't have another kilo in hm. Great performance!

  • grandissimo, e gareggia con gente di 150 kg. RUSSIAN POWER

  • does anyone know what rigert says when hes waving him on?

  • @trinity9011 he sas just go on and do it, they wont stop yealing anyway

  • @nevarnejoh thanks ;)

  • 12 GOLD medals in European weightlifting championship 2010 . for Russian Federation

  • this is my favorite snatch lift of all time, ive never seen such effort put into a lift like this, chigishev is awesome!

  • @brands1 me too

  • do they give medals for the snatch, c&j and the overall? or just one medal for the overall?

  • Yeah, they do at the world championships. They don't at the Olympics though.

  • he tells him to hurry up and get on with it

  • "would you give that?"

wtf of course you would, there was nothing wrong with it !

  • i wish i could toss 465lbs 8ft in the air

  • @mike7ace i wish i could dead lift that let alone snatch it

  • anyone know why he didnt compete at the europeans?? i was well dissapointed, no chigishev, no skerbatihs, no cholakov, no steiner, the weights didnt go much over 230kg.

  • they wanted to give the younger guys a chance to lift in a major event.

  • concentrating on the worlds

  • they don't need to compete the year after the olympics because it's only @ the world's the year before the olympics that you compete for slots for your team

  • His Snatch is gr8..best in his class...but its king of the life CJ which decides competition winner thats why he lost Gold at beijing 2008

  • i love how he is telling the iranian fans to suck it at the beginning and rigert is telling him to ignore them!

  • This guy will win GOLD in London. Awesome lifter

  • thanks for posting this great video emil, great to see chigishev get this great victory in the SNATCH! unfortunate that you cant comment on this video without being called a retard or a spastic, but one look at the comments and its easy to see who the real retard is :)

  • Haha, thanks man! :-)

    Work hard!

  • @richie1916 Retard. Spastic

  • Does it matter?

He was a very strong lifter but he lacked the techique to be called the greatest of all times...

  • Like I said before. THERE ARE THREE COMETITIONS IN EACH WEIGHTCLASS!!!

Chigishev won the snatchcompetition with this 211kg lift, but Rezazadeh won the C&J and the total.

Go learn about weightlifting rules and then study the results before you call me idiot again.

  • Rezazadeh did three good snatches with 210 in the last attempt. Chigishev also did three good snatches with 211 in the last attempt, as seen here. Thats 1kg more than Rezazadeh, for the gold, at a bw of around 40kgs lighter.

Should also point out that Rezazadeh is retired while Chigishev is at his best right now....

  • But I have never said that Chigishev was a better weightlifter than Rezazadeh. He never beat him in the TOTAL. But he did beat him in the snatch, right here. And that was what the whole discussion was about. I'm sorry that you couldn't understand that from the beginning...

  • Well Rezazadeh's best in the snatch is just 2kgs more than what Chigishev did here. But that was not the point. The point was that Chigishev beat Rezazadeh.

YOU are really stupid! Why don't you pick up wl and try to beat that random german? Steiner has been around forever and he is a very good lifter.

Just get over it, Rezazadeh was an outstanding lifter, but not unbeatable!

  • Well, first of all we never met.

The whole discussion before was about that Chigishev beat Rezazadeh in the snatch. Nobody said that it ment the world. It was you that brought it up.

It's not the first time Rezazadeh was beaten in the snatch. He came 3rd in the 2003 WWC. Missing 213,5, trying to win the gold and set a new WR.

If he was a superman how come he didn't beat the alltime records held by european lifters?

  • I can't belive what this discussion turned out to. Rezazadeh's peak where before the 04 games. He never lifted as well as he did in 2000-2003. Later he got way to fat. He might have had more in the tank but he never did it in a competition and that what counts...

  • Krastev supposedly did 220 in snatch and 225 from blocks in training, Pisarenko supposedly cleaned 280.

This doesn't count as long as you don't do it in an official competition.

I am to amazed by Rezazadeh's results but, I don't get obsessed!

    Let go already!

P.s: Both Alexeev and Kurlovitch did win two olympic golds in the SHW.

  • pisarenko was about 30kg lighter than rezazadeh and rezazadeh never beat his comp c+j

taranenko still holds the record for biggest all time comp c+j

nor did he beat krastevs all time snatch

and to suggest that reza has never taken drugs is ludicrous, they all have/did

  • Actually, in most weightlifting competitions except Olympics, there are three seperate competitions in each weight class. The snatch, the C&J and the Total.

In the above shown competition, Chigishev won over Rezazadeh with 211 to 210. In the C&J and the total Rezazadeh won with 251 to 246 and 461 to 457 in the total.

  • Check out the full results of the competition then....

  • this 211kg lift gave chigishev the gold, rezazadeh was after lifting 210kg on his third attempt! the iranian fans were silent during all rezazadeh's lifts and they openly booed chigichev during his lifts. he was raising his hand at the start of the video asking the crowd to be quite! this was an excellent win for chigishev!

  • did rezazedeah win?

  • We're all brothers and sisters and noone is better than the other.

Stop this shit or I'll cancel the comments...

  • amazing snatch :D thanks for posting

  • i agree greatly, going from WL to PL is easier that going from PL to WL

  • Sure he is strong. But how much can he bicep curl?

  • lol, a LOT is what i hear

  • lol

  • Comment removed

  • dont be silly curling is the most productive exercises there is! it uses nearly every muscle in the body....well the way most 18 year olds do it

  • lol swinging their whole bodys, just making it look like they're doing a lot of weight

  • fuck off

  • That is superhuman! He's tall and lacks leverage and still overcame it.

  • Benching that much is not an incredible feat, doing 3 simple lifts is not athletic it's almost just lazy. Olympic weightlifters are actual athletes and they can bench and squat a lot they just don't happen to do it in competition. And they can squat all the way down that alone makes Olympic lifting superior.

  • well they do three and the o lifter due 2.the powerlifters are without a doubt stronger but not as athletic.

  • how ignorant are you? just because benching isnt technicial doesnt mean its not hard. id like to see you bench 600 if its so damn easy. powerlifting takes as much work and dedication as olympic lifting youre right there is less technique but shift more weight.

  • Awesome technique!!!

  • NICE!!!!

  • search on google for "rezazadeh beijing" and click on the 4th link. he's no competing because he retired (doctors orders), not because of a foot injury

  • hossein reza zadeh does this so much easier. HE IS A BEAST too bad he retired

  • Retired at the age of 30? Pity... He could lift in London at least 2012...

  • Rezza was injured in a car accident last year and was forced to retire.

  • Is he lifting in the 2008 Olympics in China ...?

  • yes

  • YAHOOOOOO ! Thankyou buddy , he's one of my favourite lifters.

  • Should be one helluva matchup. He has a score to settle with Viktors Scerbatihs for beating him at the European Championships. The guy C&Jed 247kg followed by Scerbatihs who did 252 sealing the deal for the total number of points. Keep an eye out for the Matthias kid from Germany......Its gonna be a classic.

  • pff no weightlifters are first in strength probably not in bench but squat yes

  • nebyou....Powerlifters are DEFINITELY better pure squatters than olympic lifters for many reasons. Powerlifting squat form is designed to maximize the weight in the squat, olympic lifters have different form that's necessary for their lifts but worsens their mechanical advantage. Olympic lifters also focus on the front squat in their training and don't specialize in the muscles necessary for big back squats. Your statement is ridiculous.

  • yeah your right

  • Powerlifters stronger? Weightlifters are real athletes (nebyou is right about their skills), powerlifters are'nt. About squat, WL focus on Full (Deep) squat which is not the same thing as PL-style squat. PL style squat allows you to squat more but if you would ask some PLifter to squat deep... BTW if a wheightlifter moves to PL it will be easier for him to do so than to move from PL to WL. So how can you explain that?

  • I can explain that. In many cases a powerlifter's pectoral muscles are overdeveloped and thus inhibit the speed with which a bar can be cleaned, thus many powerlifters fail in their weightlifting exploits and their bench-press training results in a physiological disadvantage that, conversely, is not translated to weightlifters being at a disadvantage to their powerlifting contemporaries if they decide to make the switch.

  • olympic weightlifters use the squat prely for training, they dont do it in order to lift the most weight. while i agree that some so called record squats are ludicrous, i have seen men squat 800lbs raw deep. anyone who competes proffesonally in sport is an athlete in my book. the fact that the tranisition is easier one way than the other means nothing.

  • well there was i thinking aslanbek yenaldiev's 455kg back squat was relatively imprssive...ohwell maybe he should lifted pl style...

  • olympic weightlifters are probably the best athletes in the world

  • They have an amazing mix of power and flexibility. I'd be tempted to say mixed martial art fighters are some the most rounded athletes, but oly lifters are damn impressive. This lift is ridiculous.

  • They really are, it is like impossible for me to squat this low when i try to snatch

  • weightlifters are second only to gymnasts in flexibility, first in strength ofcourse, and first in short distances like 10m sprints. and have amazing verts and explosion

  • lol. i love the little "i got the power" at the end of the video

  • ANIMAL....

  • look at the bellow comments. i love how everyone starts agreeing with the above blog. Does anyone know why Rezaz. Is at the weight he is at, and yes it is for a reason he is not just overweight. Rez. is more than just a true athelete he is the world record holder for the C&J, and if you will watch is 210 snatch you will see how much more effortless it looks than Evgeny, but i'm not bashing on anyone, they are both amazing lifters. Props to both and great lift to Evgeny.

  • how tall is he?

  • 6'2

  • He's actually 187cm which is like 6'1" 3/5th, same height as me.

  • did he compete in the 2004 olympics?

  • he got into a fight and got stabbed by a knife

  • yes very good point anoter category very nice rezazadeh very strong but to heavy

  • What a man.Because of athlete such he is i would like them to establish one more category.Let's say 105 - 125. I know they must have some body fat but Rezazadeh looks like shit. And it is time for Europeans to answer.

  • Totaly true. Rezazadeh lacks the appereance of a real athlete, but Chigishev has that and a good result.

  • and saddly chigishev is around 130kg right now in body weight i think.

  • 124*

  • Not a world record but the best snatch i have ever seen, because of his body weight and the snatch weight.

    AWSOME SNATCH !! 10/10

  • what about the 210 at only 110 by Yuri Zakharevich in 1988?

  • Che strappo!!!...Che atleta!!!

  • To LOSHOK: Mate you know ibet your friends dad busted his knees at age of 21 and finished his career at 25 max. That is a shame cause real lifters should last for few decades like Alekseyev(lol my spelling is flawed) who made his best results at age of 38.

  • he was born 1979.

  • shit he beat reza, and weights a shitload less.

Definitely strongest man in the world.

  • True. If he had 135 kg BW he would snatch and C&J World records!

  • almost had 250 in C&j in Thailand... He is great. How old is he?

  • amazing

  • this is my favorite veightlifter :P..... I have snatch 110kg and jerk 127kg.... is it ok?:D .... and i have 15 years :P aaand 87kg of body :P

  • That is great for your age. I am 21 years of age, +105 snatch 165kg and C&J 195Kg, not bad, eh?

  • is that david rigert? the coach.

  • yes

  • good but no rezazadeh.

  • Russia FTW

  • Glad we cleared that out! I heard earlier that he told him not to care about the crowd..

  • Vad betyder det?

  • "Come on, come on, don't care about them!"?

  • He was annoyed about that Chigishev cared to mutch about the irainian fans, that booed at him..

  • What was David Rigert so annoyed about?

  • That he cared too mutch about the Iranian fans..

  • Thats nice! Any idea why he wasn't competing in 2006? I bet russia wants to have an olympic champion again in the +105 as soon as possible.

  • nice

  • I belive you, no problems :)

Do you mean that If he win the Olympics, he will get 1 milj? He has never won before. He came fifth in 2000 in 105kg and he wasn't in Athens.

  • do you mean 220? whwre have you heard that?

  • Once this guy puts on a few pounds Reza will have to watch out. Chigishev already snatches only 2 kilos under Reza's best at a much lower bodyweight.

  • The bodyweight really doesn't have that mutch with snatchresults to do.

  • True... you have guys in lower weightclasses snatching almost as much as the superheavyweights. But hey, 2 kilos isn't THAT much weight. And maybe if Chigishev puts on some extra weight his clean and jerk will go up.

I suppose I just find the superheavyweight scene boring now because of Reza's domination. I'd like to see a bit more competition.

  • True! But i think Chigishev has reached his limit in snatch. I don't think it matters mutch if he weighs 125 or 140 at those big weights.

  • not sure about that! his pull is soooo explosive and it looked fairly effortless.... the trouble standing up was simply because he jumped out slightly too wide, and wasn't balanced properly... I do that sometimes, too (with about 1/8 the weight!!!)

  • wow heavyass weight, but still he made it look soooooooooooo hard

  • damn, he's good

  • Awesome!!!

  • bad ass

  • thats incredibly good

  • Many Thanx!

    This is awesome! GREAT LIFT!
