Um, doesn't look like all that much snow. Typical winter here in South Dakota, in fact. And BTW, most everybody here drives on All-Season tires and does quite well with them. You just have to know how to drive in snow.
All season tires are good for rain, otherwise they suck for cornering on dry pavement and they suck in snow/ice conditions. If you're a good driver you can get around on crappy tires and sand bags, but most people, like the one in this vid, are better off being stuck.
A certain amount of wheel spin is going to happen with a car on all season tires in the snow/ice. The fact she sat there and killed the little momentum she had going forward was a skill problem. Situations like this are why I carry a shovel in deep snow, dig the rear wheels out and that car would have pulled right out.
well i think he's not ready for winter driving if he cant get out of parking lot i dont think he will know what to do in case of the car starts sledding .. he should have a gas full of gas, a bag of sand or kitty litter, and a shovel ..in the trunk along with other things like water etc... if he would take few minutes 2 shovel the snow in front of him he probably would get out of there just fine... Is my opinion..
you have to teeter forwards and backwards. put in your reverse gear and try to find the right frequence of your car teetering in the hole. when you have enough momentum you'll get out of the snowhole and then dont stop. drive back to the point you could controle the car. and remember do never let the tires spin because they will dig deeper into the snow and youll never come out
@m96gran I beg to differ I have 35x12.5 BFGoodrich All-Terrain Tires on my 1991 Suburban 4x4 and I got around just fine in the federal way auburn area worked very well.
All season tires work fine. You just gotta know how to drive unlike the moron in this video. I have never got stuck with all seasons and I drive a grand prix with 6 inches of ground clearance. The key is the be gental with the gas and dont stop moving if your in deep snow.
I agree with you. All seasons are just fine! Everyone always thinks oh no there is snow now I need to buy snow tires! Buy all seasons and your set year round. Everyone in my family only uses all seasons and we live in North Idaho by a ski hill! So we get our fair share of snow.
winter tires are not for snow... they are for COLD.
Winter tires are made softer than all seasons.
When its really cold, all season tires will be so hard they don't grip the road even if theres no snow at all. However, winter tires will till be soft when its cold and grip the road no problem.
thats why you don't drive winter tires in summer cuz they wear out so fast because they are soooo soft.
oh wow, i havent been paying attention, this happened while i was out on a bike ride last year, i didnt even offer to help as she was talking on her cell phone- guess im a jerk. the fact that its a woman driver has no bearing on the situation. we got 8 inches of snow in like 6 hours.. it was nuts.
i didnt have too much trouble maneuvering my 20 lb one wheel drive bike around in it though.
i just went out ridin today in wisconsin (got only 1 inch but it was slippery!) and fell 3 fucking times!(ripped my pants lol) my bike has no back brakes but i was still able to slide around some pretty long corners
She did an Awesome Job Revvin the Engine!! *LOL* :D :D Did She ever get out?? Im surprised u weren't able to Push her out.. Thanks For Posting and Hope u capture some more Female Stucks.. Was she one of those Young drivers that had no Exp driving in that stuff?
Perhaps rather than video taping you could give the car a lil' push?

Why do you say the driver can't drive? She can't even get out of the parking space. Spinning her wheels has nothing to do with her driving skills.

That being said, if I know we're going to get belted with snow here in Ohio, I go out and run errands before it snows.
