i have a spotted genet. but i am very curious to find out where you got a melanistic genet, i am very interested in getting lucy a companion and getting a melanistic would be rad =D
They don't always use the litter. My genets live in a room and sometimes I find a little surprise not exactly in the litter box. I think that only cats are very clean with the litter.
My rusty genet Vivì was eating a piece of banana, her favorite food. It's incredible, she prefers some sweet fruits to meat! When I took her, she was very wild and scared (she had a difficult life before).I tamed her...by giving her pieces of bananas and we became friends.

How hard is it to train them for the litter?

Genets are long but thin, they weigh about 2 kilos.
