The first hymn is the Paschal (or Easter) Anthem, "Christ is Risen from the dead, by His death, He has trampled upon death, and to those in the tombs, He is, bestowing life." His Grace then greets the congregation with the Paschal Tide greeting of the 40 day period after the Resurrection, "Christos Voskresi," in Church Slavonic, "Christ Is Risen," in English, which is responded to with "Truly He is Risen," "Voistinou Voskresi."
