If someone was being either one of these towards you, you'd be inclined to kick shit out of him. But instead, police can't do that, and this is the result. No doubt years of frustration that so many 'youngsters' have lost respect for people in general, and will quite happily shout abuse at you because it's probably one of their basic human rights. It basically makes swearing, any kind of verbal or physical taunting a punishable (and arrestable!) offence. But you have to wonder if it's worth the paperwork when the guy's looking at a fine or a few hours community service which is why I suspect many coppers don't bother.
