i lived the 70's , the cars were big and boxy looking (square) and the music was pretty low toned . not a lot of Bass at all . Disco was pretty exciting as the girls wore some really provocative outfits . i miss them days only because i'm getting older .
I have never really liked the 70's... 60's, 80's, 90's and those pre-war times were better. But I think Rock 'n Roll and disco were a lot better in 70's. Also cars were slightly better. Still this makes me sad... only 40 years and this world have changed so much. Would be great to experience 70's-90's and live that loop forever. 70's only because it was like before 80's and melted to 80's, there wasn't really difference between 1979-1980 you know. I have experienced late 90's though :)
@Mossman1960 I know just what you mean Mossman. I too was 10 in 1970 and miss those years so much. When I hear these classics it sends shivers down my spine. Sometimes, if I listen to this great music and recall some memories, I am back to a young lad again. Then the music stops, I open my eyes and I am back in these horrible times again including wrinkles and back pains.
Thank you so much for this!! I had never heard the song by the Fantastics ("Something Old, Something New") before, and it is wonderful. It reached #102 in 1971 on the Billboard chart, which is a travesty that it didn't go any higher.
Man I must be old. I remember when the term "oldies" meant music from the 50's. I guess you know you're old when you look at these clothes and you still think it's still ok to wear this stuff. :S Man I'm old. LOL
Memory Lane for sure............Long hair, bell bottoms, Boone's Farm T shirt, halter tops, 8 track tapes, fast cars, "tooting a few brews", parking on dirt roads, high school dances, Friday night football games, and one special little blonde. Great time to be in high school..........Thanks for the post!
if you remember the 70's, there is a movie out that starred david cassidy. it's called "spirit of the 70's". hard to find though. all about that era, everthing from pop rocks to pinto cars. cute movie!
i am only 17 but i am a 70's nut i have a 1970 chevy chevelle ss that i love to death i got it from an old friend and i got it on 6/14/09 i love it i am a classic texan i was born in dallas texas but my family moved up to the town of bartlett il but long story short I LOVE THE 70'S the music is great!

Freda Payne - Wow! I haven;t heard her sing this song for more years than I care to admit. - (Since she's been gone I have gotten old/er.)
I find myself singing these songs. I have not and never will forget them.
Some of the greatest memories exist here.
Thanks very so much for posting,
