@scowalla You should have been there.. last show of the tour with everyone on stage together. As far I know it's the first and only time that both complete bands have played on stage together. They all sit in with one another but not the entire band all at the same time until this encore.

I still smile to myself when I think back to that night... so glad I thought to bring my camera! :-)

Nice Vid, great song. I saw this 2nd in night in Chicago and most of the WSP boys were out on stage as well.

I also loved the sit-ins and back and forth guitar sessions flowing from DT/ WH/ JH throughout.

I have a solid WSP "Mercy" with Trucks on stage, I didn't want to post the video as a response here, but it's easy to find with User ID if you want to see some more jamming with Trucks and Herring. Great tour guys, thank you.

WSP and ABB was meant to be. Huge honor the way the Allmans recognized John Bell for his great southern spiced vocals.

Favorite moment of this video when Gregg Allman gives the nod that sends the lead vocal over to J.B. a few seconds after 0:43 in the video.

Thanks again for sharing this rare view of the peak encore from one of the best paired tours of 2009.

Absolutely Incredible. This is a 4 headed guitar dragon like I've never seen before, especially around the 5:30 mark. I saw 4 shows on this tour, and I'm kicking myself for not going to Houston.

Herring, Haynes, and Trucks are unbeliebable together on stage. They really rocked Birmingham on Oct. 9-10th, it was a real treat to see them "pass the buck" from one to another. I would have to say Derek Trucks owned Friday night, while Herring really shined Saturday night. Not leaving out Haynes, as it was my first time seeing him, he was on cue both nights as well.

@2006jeepers Dude.. I was at the BJCC for both nights you are talking about.. I went into a seizure during WSP the second night when they were going into Slippin' Into Darkness.. Ha! Irony at its best.. However, listening to Derek Trucks play with Haynes is like a sensual treat to your ears. I just love Trucks's facial expressions when he's playing. It's almost as if he is making love to the guitar.. Reminds me of Houser the way he caresses the guitar, but those nights in B'ham were intense.

The best band pairing of 2009, the Allman Brothers Band and Widespread Panic. The absolute top of the talent pool in the live rock and blues music scene of the decade. Not a bad honor considering the ABB is a 40 year old band. :-) Love the guys in this band. God bless. Angela
