  • Something isnt right here... The rear end looks like its from a superminx, but the front is from a regular minx... and they didnt have floor shift either.. I think the front is wrong.

  • this is a early car, the later series done away with the wrap around window but they kept it with the super minx until the end

  • aha. Frankly, Im not any expert, I have a 1964 Husky myself so ive read abit about these cars. I thought the Minx didnt come with a floorshift, but the Husky and presumably also the Superminx did. But Im almost completely sure that this is a Superminx rear end. Could it be that the American ones are different?

  • this is defo an early series 3 minx, the superminx was based on this, i have a series 5 minx 1964, there was no series 4 minx, if you search google images it will show you the series 3 has the wrap around window and bigger fins than a series v, the super minx has wrap around window and a quater window at rear, the floor shift was options on earlier cars but was standard on series 5

  • @ricky8663 - My grandfather had a Hillman when I was 3-4 years-old, and I'm trying to figure out which one (model and year). Anyone who may have known that is now dead - so I have to rely on the memory of a little boy (me). I'm just curious, and as a children's author, I've a lot of time on my hands for research.

Thank you for your information about this British masterpiece that seems to parallel the demise of it's once great American counterpart - the Studebaker! :(

    Take care, Man! :)

  • @classiclistener01 Takk for det. :) You can search on wikipedia or google for pics of Hillman Minx, as all the earlier models are named minx, xcept the short 2-door stationwagon "Husky"(of which I have a 1964 model),which is mostly a shortened minx of the same year model.. At least they have the same front. Later models are named "Imp"(with a rear engine),"Hunter" and "Avenger". Ha en fin dag! :)

  • @KapteinOpel - You seem like a Hillman expert! I just wish I had a picture of my grandfather's Hillman so you could tell me what model and year it was.

I really like and respect people who like old "things" and know special details about them, especially cars and such!

    Take care, Man! :)

  • Hey !!! My Father has EXACTELY the SAME car ... we have it in our family since NEW and she has been through a restoration recently. I sent you a video response with my Hillman and I expect new videos from your progress with your Hillman also... Keep up the good work. 5***** rate from me !!!

  • Anything else you plan to do? I'd love to see the car driving. Keep us informed, eh?

  • Those little fins rule. This car is amazing. Just run a straight pipe out back or maybe a glasspack. Get a license plate that says "EAT SH1T" haha

  • @sameshirtdiffday - Wouldn't it be nice if glasspacks were still legal?

Take care, Man, and I hope you don't get pulled over by an ear-sensitive state trooper!

  • AWESOME!!!!!! The Minx is the shit! Way to go, take advantage of the indian summmer we are having... by the way, roll it with the lawnchair, stay classy.

I cannot wait until that thing is on teh road it is going to be an absolute blast.
