The GL is the same as a Jeep Commander, but dressed up.

As the the M class is a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

the Mercedes are Jeeps, not the other way around.

actually there is no engnering center in alabama for mb! when the former automaker daimlerchrysler was still around (chrysler mercedes) they had Jeep people engneer the mb suv's so they would be better than previous gen's of mb suvs. sorry. and yes it was engeneereed at DaimlerChrysler Technical Center (Chrysler Tech Center) in Auburn Hills, Michigan by Jeep designer's and engenner's.
