  • Mind you don't burn out the exhaust valves!

  • I've had about 80 tractors and have never seen anything like that before.

  • She's just clearing her throat

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • Love the comment on engine management system, what engine management system :)

  • @handball1967 Exactly my thoughts!!

  • who needs a steam engine to cook eggs ???

    JUST USE A CLASS 37

  • Wildly overfuelling... clearly not a good sign... either badly setup engine management system or burning sump oil another bad sign all is not well with that power unit.

Might be hellfire to watch but something the owners should be very worried about if not rectified soon

  • @antphilp Agree with you on all points. We are looking into all the issues with the power unit and have already had all the fuel pumps overhauled along with overhauled fuel injectors. The fuel racks have also been set up again.

The power is still throwing out to much black exhaust of un burnt fuel and we suspect it is burning oil as well.So we now plan to do a compression test on all six cylinder to see if this is causing us the high exhaust temperatures.

  • @GRIDMASTER6 enjoyed every minute of it though!!!!!! Has anyone checked the injection timing btw? Had a leyland 680 doing that on the 101 when the pump drive broke & retarded the timing by 20 deg!!

  • @GRIDMASTER6

often when injection timing is retarded they flame out like that but most locos without silencers; ie a turbo outlet only make flames; u can see em at night as u know.

  • @antphilp

    mechanical injection.

origionally they had a choke on the air line that effects governor so when power was put to full, fuelling was increased more gradually so turbo could spool up, otherwise they clag like mad up until that point.

overheating exhaust valves and manifold is the concern.

  • The very definition of hellfire.

  • Mmmm anyone got any cocktail sausages they want cooking??

  • I want to ride on a fire-belching locomotive.

  • anyone got some bacon to cook

  • her afterburner is lit!!!!!!!!!

  • I think flames indicate lubricant oil burning. This may also be a signal indicating locomotive overhaul at shops or locomotive near retirement.

  • @lailasalas you my friend, are a brainless twit....

  • @MrRickenbastard i second that btw

  • slug 6 at her best

  • lot of clag and fire "NOT GOOD"

  • space ship comes to mind and as for the clag 10*

  • And that sound...ohh...great video!

  • Flaming..my lorddzzz!!!!
