This I'd exactly why parent get into debt, what wrong with scholarships and community college...I bet you that this family already lost this home due to the economy recession.
Wow that huge house with the huge garage was less than 200k?? In Vancouver a complete dump goes for triple that. In an okay neighborhood a 30+ year old house went for 800k last month.
wow thats a nice house. my house in cali is for about 600,000 bucks in 2005. and that is like 400,000 in about 2005 and is BIGGER THAN MY 1800 sq Ft. i would buy it if i was oto move.
bloody hell, houses are cheap in the States! For that money you can't even buy a 2 bedroom flat in England. But putting people trough university is seems costly in the US, but it is getting like that here now too, 10 years ago when I went it wqas free, now it costs about £3000 (=$6000) /year. But that house is an absolut palace and would probably be in the region of $2million in the UK.
I concur! I'm in Vancouver BC where a detached single family home in a sketchy heroin-addict neighbourhood will set you back at least $600,000. The homes on the (nicer) west side of the city are far more costly. Yet I don't know anyone who's parents pay for their university. If you aren't smart enough for a full scholarship, then you get a loan or work and attend evening classes.
