Jimmy, if your dad told you he had Gazza in his pocket then presumably he also told you the tooth fairy was real and that Notts Co will one day win the League. I remember the game, great goal from County and then all out defence.
He maybe didn't have him in his pocket but he marked him impeccably and Gazza should've been off for the elbow, Notts would've won the game (under Warnock it wasn't so easy to defeat us even if the tactics were catenaccio-esque) and the chance to meet the F word in the final would've seen an all Nottingham (sorry, a Nottingham-Rushcliffe) encounter...what the result of that would've been would be pure conjecture, to tell the truth I think Forest might've won. And the toothe fairy does exist.
yeh he should of. my dads eye was a right mess in the paper the next day. im going to ask my mum about that babysitter name coz i cant remember as i was only about 2 lol.
my dad paul harding played in this game and had gazza in his pocket the whole game until he broke free and scored the only time he let him go which unfortunatley won the game for spurs. i will always hate gazza for the elbow he did on my dad.
Little Jimmy...i went to school with your baby sitter (Angela Tunnicliffe) who got me the whole squads autographs (including your dad) which have since been sold on ebay! Gazza should have been sent off for that Elbow and super Notts would (could) have made the Semi's.....
