I hate to burst your bubble but your transmission is continuously variable, meaning there are no actual shift points. they put paddle shifters on the gts so you can feel sportier and sound different but they really don't do much at all for the actual driving. So yea my point is it may seem like the paddle shift response time is really fast, but keep in mind you are not actually changing any real gears, so it isn't really comparable to the merc or the audi.
@rilo2009 hahaha yeah this was a year ago...I have a Golf R32 now...lol a whole new level compared to the lancer...meh can't be bothered to drive a stick shift in such a busy city like Los Angeles...or Mexico City...thanks for checking it out!
@HeeVindinho so let's say you wanted to go from 5 to 2, is that possible to skip gears? or rolling to a stop you usually go to neutral and brake, how would that work with paddles?
@drdouche1 Depends how fast you're going man...you can't be going 100mph and jump to second...the CVT paddles won't let you downshift that much because it has a rev limiter and it knows it would bounce, it will beep, and just keep the earliest gear you downshifted to...but let's say you're going 40mph, then you just pull back the paddle 3 times, you don't have to brake, you don't have to slow down, just pull it back three times :] and go wide open throttle (WOT)
I love it bro and since my lancer is in Mexico they don't really have any further models like the ralliart or evo X unless special ordered, which is a lot of money. Therefore, I decided to buy an exhaust system and couple of other stuff for looks. There a lot of Lancer GTS' in Mexico but non of them will be like mine :D
Paddle shifting response is amazing. It is much better than the Merc's paddle shift system, the system Mitsubishi has is as responsive as the DSG from Audi.
do u let go the gas while shift up?

@delly862000 I do most of the time just to make it seem manual...but you don't have to...

My recommendation, get a stick shift

@HeeVindinho how do you down shift or slow down if there is no neutral? does it do it automatically if you hit the brakes?
drdouche1 3 weeks ago
@drdouche1 there's another paddle on the left which you use to downshift

COol video and great car! The Lancer GTS seems like a great car with great tech available. I dig the paddle shifters.
How do you like your GTS?
