I'd recommand apply-ing all dots a little before illidan enrages and is pulled in the trap, warlocks, fire mages, hunters and warriors apply as many DOTS AS POSSIBLE

Hm, it seems to me, that to kill Illidan is nearly impossible. The timing must be precise, everyone must do what are they supposed to do, all must know perfectly the tactic, noone must make even a small mistake. And what I wonder most is that tanks must to have super fire resist gear and even more fascinating is, that warlock just takes aggro after Illidan changes and he has to have super shadow protection set. I will rather never go on raid to kill him. I would just overclick, and raid is over.

Redoubt is not a valid way to avoid such attacks because it is a proc and not a castable buff. Therefor you can't rely on it to avoid a certain attack at a set time. If it's not up and he hits you, you're screwed. Warrior's Shield Block brings his combined chance to parry/dodge/block/miss over 102.4% so is reliable.

frost doubt forget about redoubt which adds another 35% to block chance although my guild isnt up to illidan yet and im a pally tank but we are on reliquary

Basically, Druids are the best tanks for the Flames, because their defense is based around Dodge, which you CAN do with the flames. Plus, having a buff that raises resistance to fire helps too.

If you really want to know, Tanks for Illidan need to have somewhere around 20k Health, Buffed. And yes, Paladins can tank Illidan, it's just unwise to do so because holy shield increases block chance by only 40%, therefore making it harder to make sure you block shear. If you dont block shear, your total HP is reduced by 60%, which basically means you die and the raid wipes, unless you get some lucky dodges/parries through the debuff.

Also, I forgot to add, paladins arent that great for tanking the Flames either, because with the Flames, you are moving constantly, which keeps you from using consecration effectively, and consecration is probably the best, if not, second best way of generating aggro with a paladin. Also, you CANNOT block the flames attacks, which keeps you from using holy shield to generate aggro, which is maybe the third best way to generate aggro.
