The first technique does not seem like a good choice...The sweeps are NOT convincing, and the choreographed attacks even less so. However, the choke and the arm bar were well executed. The last bits at the end might be okay for a cheap wushu flick, but can hardly be called real martial arts. As the video progresses, it loses any resemblance to one-step sparring. On a positive note, the performer at least seems somewhat competent, which is more than can be said for many "black belts" around.
@Svilenkonac Hey fool, its a test to see how perfect you form and hits are idiot. Go try the martial art and i bet you cant last or better yet join Kyokushin. Dont be such a fool.
@Svilenkonac There's a difference between using it in real life and doing it for testing. This was during a testing, and thus, they didn't want to hurt each other so they don't actually hit as hard as they could.
Dear god... on one of my black belt one-steps, I threw a 230 pound man over my back. I had to lay down the rest of class. Those people must have to train hard not to injure themselves or their partners.
Absolutely ridiculous but ABSOLUTELY hilarious and a good display of athleticism. Good job. Just promise you won't do that beginning drop-kick of concrete =p
I would say this has very little reflection of "real" combat, as can be said of most any choreographed demonstration. This is a scripted fight where the same guy takes the fall every time. There were other parts of the test that had better reflection of combat, but even that has to be severely limited for safety reasons (no elbows, eye gouges, biting, kicking knees, and so on...). We took the chance to be a little flashy here since the point of this was fun. And showing off a little too.
that was a sweet dropkick right from the get go

When I was in Tang Soo Do, advanced students had to do a few "Hollywood One-Steps" that had some show flair to them. This reminded me of that.

im a blackbelt in Tang Soo Do and this looks nothing like my style
Karat3mstr 3 years ago
For the test you had to create your own ju-jitsu, while it was a requirement for the test, it does not directly relate to the style of Tang Soo Do.

The kick on the side of the head when he was striking with the bokken lacked precision.
Way to strong, we heard the impact!
