  • If you encrypt a flash drive do you need truecrypt to open it or is it gona ask for a password auto?

  • I have a Seagate GoFlex 500GB. I want to split it up so i have 100GB allocated to secure stuff e.g bank statements and then have 400GB unsecured e.g to store pics video files. Can this be done eaily and what optio will i choose. One thing is though i want to take this portable hdd and plugg into any Win PC and be able to access the secured data without having to install TrueCrypt on the that PC.....can this be done ?

  • @smithlee07 Yes, you can split up your hard drive to have separate containers or volumes. "Easily" is a relative term. :) There are steps involved in setting this up. TrueCypt dot org has all kinds of information on using TrueCrypt for different purposes. Go to their Documentation section. Use the table of contents on the left to find "Portable Mode".
