Sir, I do not about to call a fellow gun enthusiast a jacksass, however there is a small correction that drives me crazy and you are not the only offender. There is not a cartrige called a .45 Long Colt. Of course it is .45 Colt. This rediculous term comes from the fact that Colt developed the .38 Long Colt and .38 Short Colt. Also the fact that the popular ,45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) is "shorter" than the .45 Colt.
@DeepSeaDog um, true but some of my old reloading books does label this as a .45Long Colt. so, old people grew up calling it that but again, you are right, its .45 colt. but i love this video becouse it gave me something to do on my black powder guns and so much stuff is coming out to tinker with them. love it
Sorry, but I don't want to sell it. I spent quite some time putting it together. But you can build one like it. Just search Cabelas and get the Black Powder version then customize it. It's fun to have a project. Thanks for Watching.
@ElMuertoMonkey I suppose you are a genius psychiatrist who can determine if someone is "nuts" simply by viewing a video? And then decide by your high and mighty moral compass that guns should be banned because YOU think so? Very strange indeed.
I know that Pietta made a detachable wooden stock for this pistol at one point. I have read that putting a stock on a pistol violates the Short Barreled Rifle law, so...would it be legal because it's a black powder gun or is it only legal in Italy?
@supermonsterdeluxe I have seen the pistol with the rifle stock on Cabelas. As I remember it's quite unusual and a tad expensive. But they wouldn't be selling it if was illegal. But then again every state has different laws. For instance, I have a stun flashlight that is legal to carry in Iowa but a felony in Illinois. I will be reviewing it soon.
No. unfortunately it will not shoot .410 shotgun shells. Would be interesting if it did though. There are some derringers that will shoot .410 and .45 long colt. A friend of mine has one. He says that shooting the .410 shotgun shells kicks like a mule. LOL. Hard on the wrist. so to speak..Not for the faint of heart, I suppose.
@usernameuneeded The cylinder is not short, that cutout at the bottom is for loading, you will see that the barrel is right at the cylnder at the top. Also there is no "ejector" as blackpowder guns, once you've shot them have nothing left in the chamber. The cap will fall off the nipple on the back.
Nice gun. The "ejector for the black powder," as you call it, is the loading lever and rammer. It rams the ball into a single chamber, on top of the powder..
Ummm Durr Durr Durr I wasted a bunch of money ummm durr durr...
Please can I have FIVE FUCKING minutes of my life back you JACKASS???

Just for trivia, could you shoot .410 shotgun shells from the .45 LC cylinder?
cmoneynumbaone 4 months ago
@cmoneynumbaone Looks as though the cylinder is a bit short for that

My mistake in terminology. You are correct. Frankly, I have never shot cap and ball. I will have to try it sometime. Thanks for the correction.
